20 YEARS SINCE NATO CRIME IN YUGOSLAVIA: Belgrade to host international conference on March 22-24

On the occasion of the tragic 20th anniversary since the imperialist attack of NATO, US and the EU against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the Belgrade Forum for the World of Equals and the World Peace Council (WPC) organize an international conference in Belgrade, on March 22-24. 

The conference, which is a commemoration "against forgetting the 1999 NATO aggression", is expected to be attended representatives from peace and anti-imperialist organizations from around 40 countries. 

Within the framework of the conference, the Secretariat of the World Peace Council will hold its meeting in the Serbian capital with delegates from several countries including Brazil (represented by WPC president Socorro Gomez), Cuba, USA, Palestine, Syria, South Africa, Congo, Nepal, India, Japan, Cyprus, Portugal, Lebanon, Venezuela, Britain, Czech Republic and Iran. 

The delegates from Greece will be Thanasis Pafilis, WPC General Secretary - also a KKE member of the Greek Parliament, Iraklis Tsavdaridis, Executive Secretary of the WPC and Nikos Zokas, Vice president of the Greek Committee for International Detente and Peace (EEDYE). The international conference will also be attended by Michalis Sofikitis, retired Brigadier, member of the Secretariat of the Movement for National Defense (Greece) and Despina Markou, president of the Greek Committee for International Democratic Solidarity (EEDDA).
