Communist-backed “Panspoudastiki” wins Greece's student elections for fifth consecutive year!

The communist-backed student alliance “Panspoudastiki KS”, supported by the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) - youth wing of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), emerged once again as the leading force in the nationwide university student elections held on Wednesday, securing first place for the fifth consecutive year!

Thousands of students across Greece voted for “Panspoudastiki”, strengthening the militant student movement and delivering a clear message against the anti-education policy of the New Democracy government, the commercialization of higher education and the reactionary plans for private universities. 

The result marks another significant defeat for the pro-government DAP faction, despite denunciations by “Panspoudastiki” concerning organized attempts of fraud and interference in several university departments. You can follow the results at: https://www.pksekloges.gr/foititikes-26/

During the electoral battle, KNE and “Panspoudastiki” called on students to reject “the rot of the system,” imperialist wars, corruption and repression, while strengthening collective struggle for free public education, degrees with value and a life with rights.

The repeated victories of “Panspoudastiki” confirm the growing influence of communist and radical forces among Greek youth and demonstrate that organized militant action continues to inspire thousands of students throughout the country.
