Statement on Solidarity with the Peoples of Iran, Lebanon, Palestine
The latest phase of military aggression, that started on 28 February, has once more pushed the Middle East region into a dangerous spiral of widening military conflicts, costing thousands of lives and the extensive destruction of the infrastructure of both countries, while also spurring an international economic crisis, which will hurt the world's poor first and foremost while the big oil monopolies and military-industrial complexes benefit handsomely.
The Trump imperialist government along with the Netanyahu criminal regime, which has been accused of genocide and crimes against humanity by the International Court of Justice for their killings of tens of thousands of innocent and defenceless people in Gaza, including 20,000 children, have waged this war with the full silent backing of almost all EU and NATO countries despite the massive popular outcry against these atrocities.
These latest aggressions follow the US Imperialist attack on Venezuela and the kidnapping of that country's president, as well as the savage economic blockade against Cuba and its heroic people with the aim of finally defeating the Cuban Revolution.
All these acts of aggression and military interference align with US Imperialism's new "National Security Strategy" and a return to the Monroe Doctrine, threatening world peace and the independence and national sovereignty of countries. As our parties have emphasised time and again, the direction of the struggle of people for peace, national sovereignty, human and democratic rights, social justice, and socialism should be determined solely by the people, free from any foreign interference.
We, the undersigned parties, support the heroic struggle of people for peace, progress, and national sovereignty in all countries threatened by Imperialism and its reactionary allies, particularly the criminal Israeli regime.
Long live international solidarity!
We defend Cuba against the imperialist siege! We defend the Revolution
We strongly condemn the growing multidimensional aggression of the United States against Cuba, which has been implemented since January 1, 1959. At this stage, what we face goes beyond an economic, commercial, and financial blockade that violates the international law and has reached intolerable levels of criminality; it is the policy of total annihilation which includes direct military threats following countless terrorist acts and hundreds of assassination plots.
By cutting off the power supply to plunge the island into darkness, attempting to paralyze the healthcare system, and attacking the right to life of an entire people—from children to the elderly—this policy constitutes a strategy of punishment and suffocation marked by its inhumane, genocidal nature. The blockade has transcended the classic instruments of imperialism, transforming into a systematic campaign of destruction aimed at eliminating the most fundamental conditions for the development of the socialist project that the Cuban people sovereignly chose, a situation that has been further aggravated, particularly by the oil blockade intensified by the executive order signed by US President on January 29.
Recent information indicates that, while the US administration maintains so-called diplomatic processes, it is simultaneously accelerating preparations for military operations against Cuba, which has already seen recent provocative episodes. This hypocritical and coercive conduct exposes once again the true intentions of imperialism, which it has never hidden: to overthrow the Revolution by imposing submission and subjugation.
However, history has shown that the Cuban people are prepared to defend the Revolution. The revolution led by Fidel Castro represents not only a change of power, but a historic bastion won from imperialism. Cuba remains committed to peace, while clearly affirming its determination to exercise its right to self-defense against any attack on its sovereignty and the achievements of socialism.
We, as communist and workers' parties of the world, declare: the resistance of the Cuban people is legitimate, just, and a shared honor for humanity. Any attack against Cuba is an attack against the peoples of the world.
For this reason, strengthening internationalist solidarity with Cuba is not only a political option, but a historical responsibility of communist and workers' parties. Whatever the cost, we are determined to defend Cuba with all our political and social means; to denounce the blockade and military aggression; and to intensify the common struggle against imperialist interventions in all regions of the world.
Cuba is not alone. Imperialism will be defeated. The Cuban Revolution will triumph!
