Thousands of workers joined PAME in strike demonstrations throughout Greece

Under the slogan "your development crushes our lives! Struggle, organization and counterattack is our choice!" thousands of workers, young men and women, unemployed and self-employed people, pensioners joined PAME in demonstrations throughout Greece on the occasion of the 24-hour nationwide strike.

In Athens, the demonstrators gathered at Omonoia Square, marched through the city's central avenues and reached Syntagma Square, outside the Parliament where they protested the antipeople, antiworker policies of the SYRIZA-ANEL government.
The demonstration was attended by the General Secretary of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) Dimitris Koutsoumbas who made the following statement to journalists:

"(We have) no illussions. The antipeople attack with continue. SYRIZA and New Democracy are trying to hide their strategic consistency through fake confrontations, through fake promises. The workers-people's movement must be regrouped immediately, in order to take the whole situation in its hands, with a powerful KKE".

In the port of Piraeus, the largest in Greece, hundreds of dockworkers and demonstrators held a militant protest, despite the various threats by the bosses of "Cosco" and other employers. The decisiveness of the workers and PAME members cancelled the efforts of the employers to "break" the strike.

Large demonstrations were organized by PAME in Thessaloniki, Patras, Larisa and other cities throughout Greece.
