In a statement regarding the official transfer of the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece points out the following:
"The decision of the Trump government to open its new embassy in Jerusalem thus recognizing the city as the "capital" of Israel, portends new negative developments against the Palestinian people and all the people of the region.
The effort of the people's murderers to extort the support of the youth in their dangerous plans seems that includes also the... "sinful" Eurovision contest. How else should we explain that Jerusalem has been actually referred by the israeli winner of the contest as Israel's "capital"? While, the offensive for the Palestinian people words of the winner was immediately reproduced by the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu!
We call the young people of our country to continue their support to the just struggle of the Palestinian people and youth which, asserting their own homeland are facing the israeli violence, the assassinations and imprisonments from the side of the state-murderer of Israel. They must strengthen the struggle against the dangerous policy of the SYRIZA-ANEL government which invigorates the political and military collaboration with the Israeli state and they must demand the immediate recognition of the Palestinian state on the basis of the decision of the Hellenic Parliament of December 2015.
The struggle of the people and youth against the imperialist wars and the US-NATO-EU plans in our region must be strengthened overall."
