Sweden's Communist Party (SKP) assesses the political situation after the elections

The executive committee of the Communist Party of Sweden (SKP) assessed the results of the recent elections, as well as the political situation in the country and issued the following statement.

The political situation in Sweden in the wake of the elections:

As of September 15th, the parliamentary situation in Sweden is still unclear, as both the so called center-right and center-left blocs claim victory in the elections, while at the same time, aim for the establishment of new alliances. 

98 years of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP): Socialism is possible and necessary

On September 10th, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) issued a statement regarding the 98th anniversary since the foundation of the "oldest and youngest party" of the country:

"We will not content ourselves with something less than what is possible. Even though some claim that it is “impossible”, socialism is the only possible future in Turkey and the world.

The rest is nothing but darkness. The rest is nothing but lies.

KKE: Regarding the European Parliament's resolution on Hungary

The Delegation of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) in the European Parliament voted for the resolution condemning the anti-communist and racist government of Hungary but also denounced the equally anti-immigrant attitude of the EU. The delegation of the KKE in the European Parliament notes in its press release:

“The positive vote of the delegation of the KKE in the EP for the resolution of the European Parliament about the Orban’s government is a political position against the policy of anti-communism of the Hungarian government, its racist policy against refugees and immigrants and every kind of racist discriminations.

More than 40% of Ukrainians express nostalgia for the Soviet Union (New Survey)

More than 40% of the Ukrainian population express nostalgia for the Soviet Union and the era of Socialism, according to a new sociological study performed by the research group "Kalmiusska Grupa" and the opinion research company "GfK Ukraine". 

More specifically, as the newspaper "Ukrainska Pravda" has reported, 43% of Ukrainians and 51% of the Donbass region residents expressed the opinion that life in the Soviet Union was better. In the western part of the country- which is widely dominated by western propaganda- 31% of the people believe that life under socialism was better than today. On the other hand, 54% of western Ukrainians prefer today's situation.

KKE comments on Tsipras' speech in the EU Parliament: "He emerges as a pillar of the rotten and reactionary system"

Commenting on Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras' speech at the European Parliament, earlier today, the Press Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) points out:

"Mr. Tsipras went to the European Parliament to reassure that, despite any reservations by some people who though that he is a "leftist" and a "radical", he accomplished the antipeople work he undertook, even presenting this barbaric policy as a "victory of the Greek people" and as "EU's solidarity"! He also reaffirmed that Greece will honor the agreements and will not return to the past, which means that the people must forget everything they lost".

Massive demonstration by PAME during the opening of Thessaloniki's International Fair

Thousands of workers, farmers, unemployed and self-employed men and women participated in a large demonstration organized by the All-Workers Militant Front (PAME) in the center of Thessaloniki on Saturday evening. 

The protest was organized on the occasion of the opening, by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, of the 83rd International Trade Fair where the "honored country" is the United States of America.

COSCO dockworkers in Piraeus go on strike over collective agreements

In a statement, the All-Workers Militant Front (PAME) calls every trade union, federation, Regional Trade Union Center, every worker and unionist to stand by the great struggle of the workers at the piers of Piraeus who continue their  struggle with a new Strike on Friday 7 September so as to sign Collective Contract.
We call on the trade unions of each country, in particular the Trade Unions in Ports and Transport Workers, to express Solidarity and Support to the COSCO Workers' Strike at Piraeus Port.

Ukrainian parliament's neo-Nazi speaker praised Hitler as the "greatest democrat"

In an outrageously provocative statement, the neo-Nazi speaker of Ukraine's parliament (Verkhovna Rada) Andriy Parubiy called Adolf Hitler a... "great person who practiced democracy". 

The hideous remark of Parubiy- a notorious fascist and admirer of Nazi Germany- took place during an interview on "ICTV" Channel.

From its side, the Communist Party of Ukraine calls on the deputies of national Parliaments from left, communist and workers' parties, deputies of the European Parliament from left parties and delegates to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to demand on their governments to take appropriate measures to punish Parubyi for the dissemination and glorification of ideas Nazism and Hitlerism.

Kisan-Mazdoor: Enormous rally by farmers, agricultural workers held in Delhi (Photos)

A huge river of red flags covered the roads of India's capital city as hundreds of thousands agricultural workers and farmers rallied today in Delhi. 

The known as "Kisan-Mazdoor Rally" consists an expression of mounting opposition to the government's neoliberal policies by the distressed peasantry seeking land rights, pensions, food security, remunerative prices, loan waivers and other demands.

In a statement issued today, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) expresses the Party's concern over the dangerous developments and the escalation of imperialist confrontation in the region of Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East

More specifically, the KKE "expressses its deep concern for the developments in Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East where military esclation is intensified, within the framework of the confrontation of USA-NATO and EU with Russia for Syria and the control of the province of Idlib (stronghold of Jihadists), with the participation of other powers too, like Israel, Turkey and Iran".

Joint statement by the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and the Communist Party of Mexico (PCM) for the reinforcement of the struggle of the communist movement and its revolutionary regroupment.

Greek maritime workers defy shipowners-government, continue their 48-hour strike

Defying the threats and warnings from the shipowning companies and the SYRIZA-ANEL coalition government, Greece's maritime workers continue for a 2nd day their strike over labor rights and collective agreements.

The 48-hour national strike was organized by Greece’s seamen federation (PNO), which said in a statement that negotiations with the sector’s employers over a new collective agreement that would include wage increases did not bear fruit. In its statement, PNO said that “for eight consecutive years, the seamen have not received not even a one-euro increase” and asked for passengers’ understanding and support.

"Hет" to reform: Thousands rallied against pension reform in Moscow (Photos)

Thousands of people of every age demonstrated on Sunday 2 September in Moscow and other major cities in Russia against the proposed governmental reform which rises in retirement age limits. 

Several thousand workers gathered in central Moscow in a large rally organized by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, while similar protests were reported in Novosibirsk, Simferopol, Vladivostok and other urban centers. 

"The reform that the government offers deprives our women of a normal pension. This reform doesn't give our youth the chance to get a good job," the CPRF chairman Gennady Zyuganov said at the Moscow rally.

While the U.S. is making a scene for the alleged Russian interference -via social networks- in the 2016 presidential elections won by Donald Trump, it came to light today how the U.S. government is using Facebook to spread fake news on Cuba and promote secretly dissents in Cuba.

Poland: New provocative effort by the government to outlaw the Communist Party

Poland's bourgeois government continues its provocative anti-communist policy, this time by renewing the effort to outlaw the country's Communist Party (CPP) and ban its symbols. This new effort by Warsaw was denounced by the Communist Party of Greece at the European Parliament

More specifically, the KKE MEP Kostas Papadakis submitted to the European Commission a question regarding the unacceptable and anti-democratic initiative of the Polish government.

92 years since the foundation of the Cypriot Communist Party - Statement by AKEL

The 19th of August marked the 92nd anniversary since the foundation of the Communist Party of Cyprus which in 1941 was renamed as AKEL (Progressive Party of Working People). 
On the occasion of the Party's foundation, the Press Office of the Central Committee of AKEL issued the following statement:
"The foundation of the Communist Party of Cyprus in Limassol on 19 August 1926 was and remains a landmark in our country’s history. From that day onwards, the working people of Cyprus acquired their own Party. 

The revolutionary message conveyed throughout Cypriot society by the Communist Party of Cyprus (CPC) is summarized in the following reference of its Program: "People are no longer dividedinto Greeks and Turks to fight amongst themselves about the greatness of their homelands, but dividedinto the poor and the wealthy." This is the class and internationalist content of the ideology that has been guiding the CPC-AKEL for 92 years.

Genieße den Kapitalismus: 48% of German pensioners earn less than €800 per month

Even in the European Union's economically most powerful country, Capitalism shows its rotten, barbaric nature. 

More specifically, as Deutsche Welle reports, poverty towards Germany's senior citizens becomes more and more threatening, as long as almost half (48%) of the country's retirees earn a pension of less than 800 euros per month!

It must be noted that the poverty limit in Germany – the monthly net income that someone must earn in order to be considered as “poor”- is 958 euros/month.
