"Greece must not be used as a base for the imperialist attack on Syria": Statement by the Communist Party of Greece

In a statement regardiing the military preparations for an attack against Syria, the Press Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece issued the following statement:

"The warfare preparations of an intervention in Syria, from the side of the USA, Britain, France, etc, have no relation with the pretexts that they invoke once more, like so many times in the past.

Israeli communists condemn the cold-blood murder of palestinian by IDF sniper

Hadash and the Communist Party of Israel (CPI) condemned on Monday, April 9, a video showing Israeli soldiers cheering as one of them, a sniper, shot and brought down a Palestinian who approached the Gaza security fence. 

All Israeli television channels broadcast the clip at the start of their primetime evening news bulletins – with one host describing the spectacle of the cheering soldiers as “disturbing” – after it circulated widely on social networks.

Dimitris Koutsoumbas: "Greece's people have nothing to divide with Turkish people"

British ambassador at the U.N. thinks that Karl Marx was... Russian!

Speaking at the U.N. Security Council on Tuesday, during her confrontation with her Russian counterpart regarding the proposed resolution on Syria, the U.K. ambassador at the United Nations Karen Pierce decided it was the proper time and place to refer to... Karl Marx. 

Responding to a comment by Russia's permanent representative at the U.N. Vassily Nebenzia, Mrs.Pierce launched the attack:

"With respect to Karl Marx, I think he must be turning in his grave to see what has become of his country… in its defense of the use of chemical weapons against the innocent.”

The government of Tayyip Erdogan escalates repression measures thus increasing the number of the people detained for sharing social media posts which criticize the AKP government. 

As soL international reports, over a thousand of people including TKP members and citizens from other left-wing parties have been detained for sharing social media posts criticizing the government as the AKP tries to criminalize sharing news from soL.

845 Turkish citizens were detained in January and February for sharing social media posts criticising the government or “defaming” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as the number of detentions is gradually increasing every day.

Party of Communists, USA: Condemns U.S. government's hostile policy against Russia

PCUSA STATEMENT ON U.S HOSTILITIES AGAINST RUSSIA.

The Party of Communists USA (PCUSA) condemns militarist efforts to isolate and harass Russia. U.S. imperialism continues to ramp up its hostility to Russia, to a point where, informed observers believe the U.S. and Russia are closer to war now more than since the overthrow of socialism in the U.S.S.R. in the early Nineties. Some even assess the hostilities to be greater than at any time since the end of World War II. This is Capitalism #7 - Richest 1% on target to own two-thirds of all wealth by 2030

According to a report published in The Guardian (7 April), the world’s richest 1% are on course to control as much as two-thirds of the world’s wealth by 2030. 

An alarming projection produced by the UK House of Commons library suggests that if trends seen since the 2008 financial crash were to continue, then the top 1% will hold 64% of the world’s wealth by 2030. Even taking the financial crash into account, and measuring their assets over a longer period, they would still hold more than half of all wealth.

Canada's Communist Party slams Trudeau for his stance on the Skripal case

In a statement, the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Canada condemns the decision of the Trudeau government to expel four Russian diplomats, calling it "part of a dangerous New Cold War".

The CPC has sharply condemned the Trudeau government’s decision to expel four Russian diplomats from Canada, in lock step with the Conservative government of Theresa May in UK, who demanded ‘solidarity’ actions from European and NATO countries, including the US, declaring she had led “the largest collective expulsion of Russian intelligence officers in history”. 

In fact, the expulsions exceed any equivalent action taken since the height of the Cold War. Nearly 150 Russian diplomats have been expelled from 24 countries, including 60 from the US. 

La France en grève - Solidarity with railway workers against Macron's policies

France is on strike! Thousands workers have been in streets during the last weeks, participating in strikes and mobilizations, protesting against the new "reforms" that the Macron-Philippe government promotes in order to serve the needs of the domestic capital. 

More specifically, the French government launched a lightning war against the railwaymen. It has decided to pass by order (without debate or vote in parliament) a privatization project of the SNCF (the national railway company) and to remove the railway status, conquered by the workers' struggles of the past. Among the Macron government’s plans is to lay off 120,000 public sector workers.
