A group of KKE members from the Party Organization of Teachers and Artists from Athens travelled to Belgrade in order to reiterate their solidarity and support of the Greek communists towards the people of Yugoslavia. Back in 1999, the KKE stood at the forefront of the anti-imperialist struggle against NATO's imperialist crime in the Balkans.
In a speech, the General Secretary of the NKPJ, Aleksandar Banjanac, said that the crime of NATO “will never be forgotten” and expressed the gratitude of Serbian communists towards their Greek comrades for the solidarity. Banjanac underlined that imperialism continues to sow death and destruction around the world and expressed the necessity for the implementation of internationalist, anti-imperialist solidarity in our times. A greeting speech was also delivered by a representative of the Central Committee of the KKE who gave a detailed account of NATO atrocities in Yugoslavia thus exposing the criminal nature of imperialism.
The rally ended with revolutionary partisan songs in both Serbian and Greek, including of course the joint singing of “The Internationale” (Click to watch video).
