Shameful decision: European Court backs Romania’s refusal to register the Communist Party!

A spectre is haunting the “democratic” institutions of the European Union; the spectre of communism. On December 21st the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) ruled that the 2014 decision of the Romanian authorities to refuse to register the Romanian Communist Party (RCP) was justified!

In its decision in the case of the “Organizing and Registration Committee of the Romanian Communist Party against Romania” (application no. 20401/15), the ECHR unanimously declared the application inadmissible. In fact, the European Court adopted the preposterous decision of the national courts of Romania according to which “the PCR program and status ignored democratic values and the country's socio-political evolution after 1989” and “allowed totalitarian (sic) and extremist actions that could undermine national security, posed dangers to democratic values”.

On the passing of Archbishop Desmond Tutu

South African Anglican Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, who died Sunday 26 December at the age of 90, was certainly an interesting and influential religious leader.

He will be remembered for his active stance against the racist Apartheid, as well as for his reconciliatory role as the chairperson of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Nonetheless, despite his self-identification as a "socialist" and his criticism towards capitalism, the late Archbishop was a staunch anti-communist. In 1985 he stated that he hated Marxism-Leninism "with every fiber of his being", while he used to compare the socialist countries with far-right regimes, even Nazism!

The Red Flag will rise again: 30 years since the dissolution of the Soviet Union

By Nikos Mottas.

It was thirty years ago, on December 26, 1991, when the red flag with the sickle and hammer was lowered from the Kremlin.

It was then, during the cold days of December, when the first socialist state of the world, the homeland of the world's proletariat, bent under the weight of the counterrevolution. Four days before, on December 22nd, the leaderships of three of the largest Soviet republics had decided the dissolution of the USSR, while the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) had been outlawed on summer of the same year.

The stance of the KKE in the face of the 1990-91 overthrows in the USSR

Interview with Aleka Papariga, member of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), former General Secretary of the Party from 1991 to 2013, in "Rizospastis" concerning the stance of the KKE during the 1990-91 counterrevolutionary overthrows in the Soviet Union

The interview (here in Greek) was originally published in "Rizospastis" weekend edition (18-19 December 2021). English translation by Nikos Mottas.

The bourgeois parties celebrated when the red flag was lowered from the Kremlin. What were their main declarations at that time?

EU Parliament: KKE denounces new anti-Cuban resolution

Another despicable resolution against Cuba was adopted by the European Parliament on December 16th. The text titled “The situation in Cuba” comes as a continuation of the hideous and unacceptable resolution that had been adopted in Strasbourg on September 16, 2021.

Using once again the fake allegations about the so-called “human rights abuses” in Cuba, the new resolution refers to a number of paid U.S. agents – closely related to U.S. governmental and non-governmental anti-Cuban institutions - who are presented as supposed “dissidents” and “freedom fighters”.

KKE denounces the despicable anti-communist "resolution" circulated in the European Parliament

According to 902.gr portal, the European Parliament Group of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) denounces that the so-called “Informal group on European Remembrance” tries to promote a shameful resolution which is undersigned by some MEPs from the “European People's Party (EPP)” and the “European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR)”.

Truth and Lies about the 1956 counterrevolution in Hungary

"In autumn 1956, Hungary announced its withdrawal from the Warsaw Pact, but Soviet troops invaded the country and suppressed the uprising."

"In 1968 the Czechoslovak attempt to distance itself from Moscow was met with an invasion of the country by the member states of the Warsaw Pact.”

EU's concern for the rise of far-right extremism and racism is hypocritical, says KKE MEP

Bolivia's jailed dictator Jeanine Áñez nominated for EU's Sakharov Prize!

The story behind the European Parliament's so-called “Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought” is known. Each year, the EU Parliament awards the Sakharov Prize to “honour” “exceptional individuals and organisations” who supposedly defend “human rights” and “fundamental freedoms”.

Nonetheless, the actual aim behind this “award” is the attempt of the European Union to present herself as a “defender of human rights”, to reward the stooges of imperialism and to promote anti-communism

Stalin did not deport German communists to Hitler

By Grover Furr.

A critique of an essay by Alex de Jong in Jacobin magazine, August 2021.

In August 2021, the social-democratic magazine Jacobin published an article by Dutch writer Alex de Jong titled “Stalin Handed Hundreds of Communist Over to Hitler”. The assertion in the article’s title is false. De Jong’s article, and other articles and books that make this claim, all commit the following three cardinal errors:

KKE MEP denounces EU machinations against Cuba

Once again, the European Union and its mechanisms play a leading role in promotin counterrevolutionary “voices” against Cuba. This time, the anti-Cuban show was staged at the EU Parliament's Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI) under the mantle of “activism” and with the known pretexts of “democracy” and “human rights”.

In his intervention, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) MEP Kostas Papadakis strongly denounced the anti-communist provocations against Cuba. More specifically, the KKE eurodeputy said:

"As long as the Soviet Union existed no one was hungry"

A white t-shirt with the initials of the Soviet Union in Russian (CCCP) and the sickle and hammer were enough to infuriate anti-communists in social media.

Julia Nova, a Greek model and TV presenter (photo), decided to share with her followers the happiness of pregnancy by uploading a photo on her Instagram profile account

The photo of her wearing a t-shirt with the "USSR" initials on it provoked the angry reaction of anti-communists, right-wingers and various social media trolls who attacked her. Julia, who is of Ukrainian origin, became the target of rude and derisive comments by some users who apparently can't stand in the view of the sickle and hammer.

Sieg für DKP! German Communist Party will participate in September's federal elections

Sieg für DKP! (Victory for DKP)! The German Communist Party will finally participate in the upcoming federal elections which are going to take place on September. The Federal Constitutional Court completely overturned the decision of the Federal Electoral Committee which did not recognize the party as such and subsequently did not allow it to take part in the electoral process.

According to jungewelt.de, the decision of the Federal Electoral Committee, which observers referred to as a "cold party ban", was challenged by the DKP on July 12 in Karlsruhe with a so-called non-recognition complaint.

KKE-KNE protest at the Slovenian Embassy in Athens.
Members of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and the Communist Youth (KNE) protested in fron of the Slovenian Embassy in Athens on Friday morning, against the Slovenian Presidency's decision to hold an anti-communist international conference titled “in memory of the victims of totalitarian regimes”.

This anti-historical event, which takes place in the framework of the annual anti-communist fiesta staged by the EU every August 23rd, provocatively equates communism with nazism.

Die Linke supported the ban of German Communist Party

On 9 July we wrote that the Federal Election Commission announced that the German Communist Party (DKP) will not be allowed to participate in September's Bundestag elections and at the same time will be deprived of its status as a political party.

The pretext for this shameful decision was the alleged late submission of financial statements.

Several Communist and Workers' Parties from across the world have strongly condemned the decision of the Commission and expressed its solidarity to the DKP.

The allegedly late submission of financial statements is used as a pretext.

Goebbels in Florida: Red Scare bill declares November 7th as... "victims of communism day"

A monstrous anti-communist bill that falsifies history was approved on Wednesday by the Florida House of Representatives. More specifically, according to the bill (HB 1553) students in Florida schools would be taught each year about “how people have suffered and died under communist regimes”!

Furthermore, the bill requires the governor of annually issue a proclamation designating November 7th – the anniversary day of the Great October Socialist Revolution – as... “Victims of Communism Day”!
