The exhibition and the accompanying Vietnam Culture Day in Greece were co-organized by the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site at the Presidential Palace, the Embassy of Vietnam in Greece and the New Star Art Cinema, marking the 115th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh's departure in search of a path to national liberation and the 51st anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Greece.
Among those attending the opening ceremony was Dimitris Koutsoumbas, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), who underlined Ho Chi Minh's historic contribution not only to the liberation of Vietnam but also to the international communist and anti-imperialist movement.
As Koutsoumbas stressed, Ho Chi Minh was "a figure of the international revolutionary movement and culture" whose lifelong struggle left an indelible mark on the Vietnamese people's fight for national independence and social liberation. He noted that Ho Chi Minh dedicated his entire life to the cause of freedom, socialism and proletarian internationalism, inspiring generations of revolutionaries across the world.
The exhibition also traces Ho Chi Minh's journey from anti-colonial patriot to communist revolutionary, emphasizing his embrace of Marxism-Leninism and his leading role in Vietnam's struggle for national independence and socialist construction. It highlights his historic role in founding the Communist Party of Vietnam and leading the Vietnamese people in their victorious struggle against colonialism and foreign intervention.
The events in Athens served not only as a tribute to one of the twentieth century's greatest revolutionary leaders but also as a reaffirmation of the enduring values of proletarian internationalism, anti-imperialist solidarity and the historic friendship between the peoples of Greece and Vietnam.
