Hadash and Maki also pointed to “the danger of the near-total consensus within both the government and the central Israeli opposition around the warlike and aggressive line,” and warned of “an escalation of massacres and crimes of ethnic cleansing in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, the expansion of the fascist offensive, and the intensification of racism in Israel” under the cover of war.
They further called on genuine peace forces within Israeli society to raise their voices against the Israeli–American aggression, and in favor of removing U.S. bases from the Middle East and ridding the region of weapons of mass destruction. The statement concluded with a call on the public to act with caution and vigilance, warning of potential disasters—especially in Arab communities and in areas suffering from a lack of shelters and protective infrastructure.
MK Ayman Odeh (Hadash) wrote on his X account: “Take care of yourselves, because this government will not do so in your place. It will continue turning Israel from Sparta into a super-Sparta. But there has always been another path to choose, because this reality is not fate. A solution that will bring justice, peace, security, stability, and prosperity to all of us. The Israeli government has chosen that we live under the sword forever. We will continue to oppose this approach forever—until life triumphs over the sword of death.”
