British communists on Andrew's arrest: "The Monarchy is rotten to the core"

Commenting on Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office, the Communist Party of Britain (CPB) stresses out:

"The arrest of the brother of the UK’s unelected head of state (and eighth in line of succession), and his interview under criminal caution on allegations of misconduct in public office is the most dramatic sign of the deepening crisis in the British state.

The notion that Andrew Mountbatten Windsor (as Britain’s royalist media now call him in an attempt to limit political damage to the monarchy) is an outlier, or that his conduct whether in public office, or in private, are in any way surprising is a piece of political misdirection.

Andrew’s conduct in his role as UK trade envoy has been known for years and covered up by the media. The recent release of the Epstein files suggest that in 2010 Andrew forwarded commercially sensitive UK trade reports to Epstein about Vietnam and Singapore and asked Epstein’s views on investment opportunities in Helmand province Afghanistan, whose chief export under the US/UK occupation became heroin.

The British state and the royalist industry in the BBC and mass media covered up Andrew’s alleged involvement in sexual abuse of women and children for years. His possible indictment on charges of misconduct in public office’ does not change the corruption at the heart of UK state monopoly capitalism.

The Communist Party calls for the eradication of all aristocratic titles and replacement of the hereditary monarchy by a democratically elected and accountable head of state.

Only a democratic socialist federal republic in Britain in which its people are sovereign can remove the parasitic class of which Andrew Mountbatten Windsor is a representative."
