In a statement published today, Saturday 30/8/2025 on 902 portal, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) denounces the despicable decision of the U.S. Government to deny and revoke visas from Palestinian officials, including President Mahmoud Abbas, ahead of next month’s United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The statement reads:
"The KKE denounces the despicable decision of the U.S government to revoke the entry permit to the United States for the President of the Palestinian Authority, M. Abbas, and the Palestinian delegation, prohibiting their participation in the UN General Assembly in September in New York, where the Palestinian Issue will be discussed and the matter of recognizing a Palestinian state will be raised.
At the same time, the Trump administration is preparing a celebrative reception for war criminal Netanyahu, supporting the murderous state that is responsible for the genocide of the Palestinian people.
The New Democracy government, as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, cannot blow the whistle nonchalantly. What is urgent is to denounce the dangerous decision of the US, taking advantage of its status as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, to request its revocation and proceed with the recognition of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the unanimous decision of the Greek parliament in 2015."
