49th anniversary of the Polytechnic uprising: Massive anti-imperialist rally by the KKE in Athens

The events for the celebration of the 49th anniversary of the Athens Polytechnic Uprising culminated on Thursday 17/11/2022 with the mass rallies of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and its youth wing (KNE), to the US embassy.

Thousands of people, workers, students, pensioners, men and women of every age, waving the flags of the KKE, demonstrated against the imperialist war and Greece's participation in it, the anti-popular policy that crushes workers’–people’s rights and achievements and turns the country into a US-NATO base for the profits of business groups. Similar marches took place in Thessaloniki and other major cities throughout the country.

Massive crowds at the Festival of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) in Athens

The 48th Festival of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), known as KNE-Odigitis Festival, was successfully concluded on Saturday night at the fully-packed Athens' Tritsis Park following a large, awe-inspiring political event where the keynote speaker was Dimitris Koutsoumbas, the General Secretary of the CC of the KKE. The opening speech at the event was delivered by Nikos Abatielos, Secretary of the CC of KNE.


Thousands of communists, workers, people of every age, men and women, attended the event thus sending a powerful message of unwavering struggle alongside the KKE, against capitalist exploitation and imperialist wars, for socialism.

The 48th KNE-Odigitis Festival kicked off in Athens

The 48th KNE-Odigitis Festival, the annual festival organized by the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), kicked off on Thursday at Tritsis Park, Athens. 
 
Thousands of people of every age, from every corner of Athens but also from other cities, attended the events of the first day which included music concerts, political discussions, stand up comedy and other activities.

D. Koutsoumbas: The peoples’ struggle can put an end to the causes of the bloodshed of war

The 48th festival of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) continues with a wide range of political and cultural activities. On Saturday 17/9/22, the GS of the CC of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, addressed a speech at the events in Thessaloniki. 
 
In his speech, he highlighted the strategic identification of the parties supporting Euro-Atlanticism and the choices of capital and referred in detail to the struggle of the KKE and its political proposal. Massive internationalist rally of the KKE in Volos sends powerful anti-imperialist message

A large political event, organized by the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), took place on Saturday afternoon in the city of Volos. Thousands of KKE members and friends, workers, young men and women, flocked the central promenade of the city, holding banners and flags and shouting anti-imperialist slogans. 

The event marked the culmination of the festivities of the 31st Anti-imperialist Camp of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) which takes place in the seaside village of Nies, Central Greece.

The 48th KNE Festival to be held on 22-24 September in Athens

Under the slogan “The new generation with KKE for the big, the beautiful, the sensational” (N. Beloyannis)- Socialism, the answer in the 21st century”, the central events of the 48th festival of the Communist Youth of Greece, commonly known as KNE-Odigitis Festival, will take place on 22-24 September in Athens. This year's slogan is inspired by Greek communist hero, Nikos Beloyannis, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of his execution.

The festival, which is traveling in many Greek cities and towns throughout July and August, includes numerous political as well as cultural events.

Internationalist political event to be held in Greece on Saturday 9 July

An internationalist political event is scheduled to take place on Saturday 9 July in the Greek city of Volos, within the framework of the 31st Anti-imperialist Camp of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE).  

The event will be attended by the leaders of four Communist Parties from Greece, Turkey, Spain and Mexico who will deliver greeting speeches.

KNE two-day camp in Germany held successfully

A successful two-day camp of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) in Friedrichroda, close to Erfurt, Germany, was concluded on Saturday 11 June with a political event, 902.gr portal reports.

The event began with the reading of anti-war poems by Giannis Ritsos, Nazim Hikmet and Bertolt Brecht. A greeting message was delivered by Alexandros Matsigkos, Secretary of the KNE Sectoral Organization in Central Europe, who stressed out that the two-day camp is the culmination of the recent activity of the KNE organizations in Germany and thanked the foreign delegations for their important contribution.

Greek communists: Alexandroupolis must be a port of the peoples, not a base or a target of the imperialists!

On 27–29 May, the organizations of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) in the universities of Eastern Macedonia-Thrace, Central Macedonia, and Western Macedonia, set up a camp in Alexandroupolis, sending a strong message against the transformation of the city into a launching pad for war and the involvement of the country in the imperialist war. 

Based on the new Greece-US agreement on bases, Alexandroupolis has been selected for the establishment of a new US base, while it is already being used for the transfer of NATO weapons and troops to Eastern Europe.

Communist-backed Panspoudastiki triumphs in Greek university student elections

In what can be characterized as an electoral triumph “Panspoudastiki KS” (All Student Cooperation Movement), supported by the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), emerged first in the nationwide student elections held on Wednesday 18 May throughout the country's universities and technological institutes.

Thousands of students supported the lists of Panspoudastiki thus giving a significant boost for the regroupment of the students movement, especially during a period when the conservative New Democracy (ND) government tries to implement reactionary reforms in Education.

Communist and Workers' Parties: Solidarity with the KKE and KNE in the struggle against imperialist war

Numerous Communist and Workers' Parties from all over the world have issued statements of solidarity with the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) in the struggle against the imperialist war in Ukraine and the country's involvement in the dangerous US-NATO plans. 

The Parties express their support and solidarity to the militants, including two members of the CC of the KKE and a member of the Central Council of KNE, who were beaten, injured and arrested following the unprovoked attack by police forces on the day of nationwide strike on April  6th in Thessaloniki.

Greece: Communist Party members blocked train carrying US-NATO military equipment (VIDEO)

Members of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and the Communist Youth (KNE) set up a blockade on a train carrying US-NATO military equipment and combat vehicles at the exist of the port of Alexandroupolis.
 

Shouting anti-imperialist slogans, the protesters blocked the railroad and with demanded an end to Greece's involvement in the ongoing imperialist war in Ukraine, as well as in the transformation of Alexandroupolis into a hub of NATO aggression.

Joint anti-NATO demonstration by Serbian and Greek communists in Belgrade

A large anti-imperialist protest organized by the New Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ), the League of Communist Youth of Yugoslavia (SKOJ), the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) took place on Saturday 26 March in Belgrade.

The protest was held in front of the famous building of the Ministry of Defense (General Staff) which was heavily damaged by NATO bombs in 1999, on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of NATO's criminal intervention against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Friends from the Serbian-Cuban Friendship Association and the League of Communists of Serbia also attended the gathering.

KKE: "ALERT! NO PARTICIPATION OF GREECE IN THE WAR"

In face of the escalation of conflict between the Euro-Atlantic powers and Russia in Ukraine the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), as well as its youth wing KNE, mobilizes against any participation of Greece in the dangerous warmongering plans of USA-NATO-EU against Russia. 
 
In a poster issued on Saturday, the KKE expresses a warning about the dangerous situation in Ukraine and Eastern Europe.

KKE and KNE expressed their solidarity with the people of Kazakhstan

On Wednesday morning, 19 January 2022, delegations of the KKE and KNE held a protest at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Athens, expressing their solidarity with the fighting people of the Central Asian country, which was recently shaken by mass demonstrations.

“We denounce the bloody repression, the death toll, and the arrest of thousands of demonstrators”, stressed Lefteris Nikolaou-Alavanos, MEP of the KKE.

Greece: Massive anti-imperialist rallies in honor of the 1973 Polytechnic Uprising

Thousands of people took part in the annual rallies held in Athens, Thessaloniki and other major Greek cities by the Communist Party (KKE) and its youth wing (KNE) on Wednesday 17 November, in order to commemorate the 48th anniversary of the 1973 Polytechnic Uprising against the military Junta.

In Athens, the demonstrators marched peacefully through central streets of the Greek capital, shouted anti-imperialist slogans (
"Since the Polytechnic, the enemy remains the same: NATO, governments, capitalism") and ended outside the U.S. Embassy where they burned flags of NATO and the United States.

Greece – Fascists attacked and injured members of KKE and KNE in Thessaloniki

A murderous attack on members of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and its youth wing, KNE, who were distributing leaflets in Eleftherias Square in Ilioupolis, Thessaloniki, took place earlier today by a group of about 10 to 15 fascists.

According to eyewitnesses the fascist mob used thick chains, knives and even tasers, injuring at least three to four people before disappearing into the surrounding straits.

KNE-Odigitis Festival kicked off in Athens (Drone video)

Thousands of people of every age, from every part of Athens, attended the events of the first day of the 47th KNE-Odigitis Festival which kicked off yesterday at Tritsis multidisciplinacy park. 

Numerous cultural and political events took place on Thursday, including a music concert by popular singer George Dalaras dedicated to the late iconic composer Mikis Theodorakis, stand up comedy, concerts at the student's stage, as well as a theatrical performance about the Paris Commune and a discussion on the situation in Afghanistan.
