KKE: The storming of Brazil's Congress by far-right groups shows the deep decay of capitalist societies

In a statement concerning the storming of government buildings by followers of Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil's capital, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) points out (here in Greek):

“The methodical invasion of government buildings by far-right supporters of former Brazilian President Bolsonaro and their calls for a coup are directed against the interests of the Brazilian people who are solely responsible for determining the social and political developments in their country.

Brazilian Communist Party: Mass struggle against coup d'état! Fascists will not pass!

The following statement was issued by the
National Political Commission of the Brazilian Communist Party (PCB):

On the afternoon of that Sunday, January 8, supporters of Jair Bolsonaro invaded the National Congress and tried to occupy buildings of other public bodies, with the intention of promoting disturbances and giving rise to a coup d'état.

This movement has been articulated for months by sectors of the Brazilian ultra-right, which has strong financial support from businessmen and segments of the military police and the Armed Forces. In different media, extreme right groups have openly guided demonstrations of non-recognition of election results and attacks on democracy.

Greek communists-targets of the Ukrainian death list "Myrotvorets"

Joint statement by Giorgos Lambroulis, Member and Vice President of the Greek Parliament, Sotiris Zarianopoulos, former Member of the European Parliament, and Giorgos Maganas, cadre of the KKE, on the Press Project website:

"The inclusion of our names in the Ukrainian blacklist with the misleading title “Peacemaker” proves the fact that the Ukrainian bourgeois state chose to overtly target us, as well as our Party, the KKE, which accepted an invitation in November 2014 to visit the Donbas region to express our solidarity with the people of the region and Ukraine as a whole.

Is Twitter manipulated by Ukrainian Fascism?

Twitter did it again! Without any prior notification and without any concrete explanation, the social media platform proceeded to the “temporary locking” of “In Defense of Communism” twitter account. The pretext behind this politically-motivated act was that a tweet with a reference to the Holodomor – the notorious anti-communist myth of the Ukrainian famine – was “violating the Twitter Rules”.

The tweet was a photo bearing the message “Holodomor is a lie made up by fascists”. Apparently, numerous Ukrainian and non-Ukrainian fascists, neo-Nazis and anti-communists reported the tweet as “offensive” thus leading to the temporary locking of the account.

KKE: On the shameful effort for the recognition of the myth of "Holodomor" by EU Parliament

In a statement (here in Greek) issued on December 5, the EU Parliament Group of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) denounces the collection of signatures by well-known far-right, anti-communist MEPs regarding the 1932-33 famine in Ukraine. With unhistorical and unfounded claims recently adopted by the German Parliament, they invoke the alleged “deliberate extermination of the Ukrainian people by the Soviet Union, the Bolsheviks and Stalin”.

Serbia: Death threats against the Communist Party - "We will slaughter you"

Back in October, the headquarters of the New Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ) in Belgrade had become the target of vandalism. "The New Communist Party of Yugoslavia informs you that Neo-Nazis organized a new attack on our Headquarters in Belgrade. They demolished our windows and wrote anti-communist and Neo-nazi slogans", a party statement was stressing out.

Recently, the Party's premises were once again targeted by fascist groups. According to a statement issued the NKPJ and the Union of Communist Youth of Yugoslavia (SKOJ) fascists vandalized the offices by breaking windows and writing graffiti slogans with death threats.

Ukrainian death-list "myrotvorets" must close down!

By Nikos Mottas.

For almost eight years now, the Ukrainian state fosters and promotes the unacceptable and dangerous targeting of persons who are regarded as “enemies of Ukraine” by the government which emerged after the 2014 coup.

The targeting takes place through the infamous, Kyiv-based website "myrotvorets.center" (“Peacemaker”) which publishes personal information, including photos, home addresses, social media accounts, etc, of people who are labelled as “persona non grata” by the far-right Ukrainian establishment.

Western media glorifying Ukraine's neo-Nazi criminals

The recent fights in Azovstal and the surrender of the paramilitaries to the Russian army, provided another opportunity to Western media to present them as heroes within the broader effort to “whitewash” the neo-Nazis of Azov Battalion. The fact that the Azov fighters are now part of the Ukrainian army do not absolve them from their Nazi ideology and the heinous crimes they have committed since 2014.

According to Reuters, in 2020 the number of paramilitaries in Ukraine reached 120,000, accounting for about 40% of the country's Armed Forces. Their ranks are filled by mercenaries of various nationalities, who were equipped, trained and funded by the United States, Canada, Britain and France.

Ukrainian site "Myrotvorets" targets Greek communists

By Nikos Mottas.

The rise of fascism in Ukraine, which was boosted after the 2014 coup, isn't limited to the persecution of communists, the banning of communist symbols and the prohibition of political parties. For almost eight years now, the Ukrainian state tolerates and fosters the unacceptable and dangerous targeting of persons who are regarded as “enemies” by the right-wing establishment.

In a recent report, “Rizospastis”, the daily newspaper of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), refers to the role of “Myrotvorets”, a Kiev-based website that published personal information, including photos and contact details, of people who are considered to be “enemies of Ukraine”.

Ukraine's decommunization and the rise of fascism

By Nikos Mottas.

The process of the so-called “decommunization” in Ukraine was introduced during the first years of the restoration of capitalism in the USSR and included the slandering and erasing of anything related to the Soviet period and the construction of socialism.

This term was also used by the President of today's capitalist Russia, Vladimir Putin, in his anti-communist statement prior to the invasion, saying characteristically that “we are ready to show you what genuine decommunization means for Ukraine”. It is not a coincidence that anti-communism is a common feature of both the neo-Nazi regime in Kiev as well as the leadership of capitalist Russia, at a time when the two sides are waging a bloody war against the people on behalf of their bourgeois classes.

Russian Communist Workers' Party on Ukraine war

In a statement titled “No to fascism! No to imperialist war”, the Russian Communist Workers' Party (RCWP) refers to Russia's invasion in Ukraine, stressing out that the actual aims of Vladimir Putin's government is to “strengthen the position of imperialist Russia in the world market competition”.

“Neither the Russian authorities nor the US and EU leaders pay much attention to the working people. We have no doubt that the real aims of the Russian state in this war are imperialistic”, the statement of the RCWP states. The Party acknowledges that “the source of the conflict is the inter-imperialist contradictions between the US, the EU and Russia”, adding that “the goal of the more powerful US imperialism is to weaken its Russian competitor and expand its infuence in the European market”.

The KKE pays tribute to the 48th anniversary of the Athens Polytechnic Uprising

By Nikos Mottas.

"This year's celebration of the Polytechnic uprising can become another link in the workers-people's struggle for education and work with humane conditions, protection measures for the health and life of the people, free time, income for a dignified life, for the rejection of any anti-labor - anti-popular law, for the condemnation of any bourgeois party, which, with the whip or carrot, deprives the workers and their families of the wealth they produce", the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) emphasizes in its statement on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the uprising of the Athens Polytechnic (read here the statement in Greek).

KKE and KNE are committed in the struggle against fascism

“The KKE and KNE, as they should do, are giving all their forces in the struggle against fascism, being aware of its abominable face, but also knowing that fascism will be irrevocably crushed by the people with their struggle against the capitalist system  which generates it”, points out Theano Kapeti, member of the Political Bureau of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and Secretary of the Party Organization in Central Macedonia, in an article published in “Ta Nea” newspaper.
