| KKE event in Berlin |
Dimitris Koutsoumbas, the General Secretary of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) concluded his visit to Germany on Sunday 11/5 with a speech in Stuttgart.
The event, organized by the Communist Youth (KNE) organization, was held at Clara Zetkin Haus and was attended by numerous workers, members, supporters and friends of the Party.
On Saturday, Koutsoumbas visited Buchenwald concentration camp, near Weimar, where thousands of prisoners, including communists, were tortured and executed by the Nazis. Between 1937 and 1945, more than 250,000 inmates passed through the camp and more than 56,000 of them were killed - among them was Ernst Thälmann, the legendary leader of the Communist Party of Germany (KPD).
It is reminded that the KKE General Secretary visited Germany between 8 and 11 May, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Great Antifascist Victory of the Peoples and participated in events organized by the Party Organizations in Berlin and other cities, including visits in important landmarks of the anti-fascist struggle.
Dimitris Koutsoumbas also spoke at the Meeting of the European Communist Action on the 80th anniversary of the Antifascist Victory, held in Berlin on 9 May 2025.
