Statement by Dimitris Koutsoumbas

In a statement, the General Secretary of the CC of the KKE Dimitris Koutsoumbas expressed the Party's gratitude to all those who corresponded to the KKE's call and supported the Party in both the European elections as well as in the elections for the local administration (Regional and Municipal).

"We want to especially thank those who made this step for the first time, the young men and women who gave their first vote to our Party" said cde Koutsoumbas and added: "Especially the battle of the European elections, as well as the one of the local elections, took characteristics which refer to general elections". He underlined that the "electoral result records one more anti-people transition between SYRIZA and ND, that is between the two largest parties of the big capital, the EU and NATO".

Refering to the general elections, the General Secretary of the KKE pointed out: "We will give this fight with optimism, against dilemmas which are going to be strengthened even more in the name of some individual differences which do not change the essense of the strategic consistency between SYRIZA, ND and the other parties. We especially call the working people, the progressive and radical people to avoid to succumb to the blackmailing dilemmas which will be intensified this month".

"Our slogan remains necessary and timely" said Dimitris Koutsoumbas: "With a powerful KKE we can  make the really big difference, so that a real popular opposition will exist, an actual foothold for the people against every anti-people government that will exist".
