The 45th KNE-Odigitis festival to be held on 19-21 September in Athens

With the struggles, the dreams, our power....we will build a world that is free, open, full of hope". These words by Nazim Hikmet consist the major slogan of the 45th KNE-Odigitis festival which is organized by the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), the youth wing of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE).

Events by KNE have been scheduled in numerous cities and towns across Greece during August and September. In the country's second largest city, Thessaloniki, the festivities will take place on 12-14th of September including a large political event addressed by the General Secretary of the KKE Dimitris Koutsoumbas

The 45th KNE-Odigitis festival will reach its peak with a three-day events on 19 to 21 September in Athens. Following a tradition of the last eight years, the festival's place will be the "Antonis Tritsis Park" in Ilion. The General Secretary of the CC of the KKE Dimitris Koutsoumbas and the Secretary of KNE Nikos Abatielos will be the speakers at the major political event on Saturday 21 September. 

The KNE festival in Athens will include numerous political and cultural events, including music concerts by popular artists, such as George Dalaras, Maria Farantouri, Vasilis Papakonstantinou, Thanos Mikroutsikos, Dionisis Tsaknis, Miltos Paschalidis, Manolis Mitsias, Dimitris Basis, Kollektiva, Onirama, Rebellion Connexion, etc. 

Being one of the country's most significant annual cultural events, the KNE-Odigitis festival spans a history of 45 years. The 1st festival of KNE and her newspaper "Odigitis" took place on September 1975, just months after the collapse of the 7-year old military dictatorship.
