KKE: Hands off the Communists of Ukraine!

In a statement issued today, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece denounces the threatening statements made by a far-right Ukrainian MP against the life of the leader of the Communist Party of Ukraine P.Symonenko and expresses its solidarity with the communists of the country: 

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) strongly denounces the statements made by I. Mosiychuk, member of the Parliament of Ukraine with the “Radical” Party, via which he is calling upon “patriots” to murder Petro Symonenko, 1st Secretary of the CC of the CP of Ukraine.

The Communist Party of Ukraine has issued a statement regarding threats made against the First Secretary Petro (Pyotr) Symonenko by lawmaker Mosiychuk Igor Vladimirovich: 

The Communist Party of Ukraine states that the calls of the MP of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Mosiychuk Igor Vladimirovich for murder of the leader of the Communist Party of Ukraine Pyotr Nikolayevich Symonenko is crime under the Articles 14, 15, 27, 129 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine that is punished with imprisonment up to 5 years.

Gaffe or deliberate propaganda? This is the question that came to our mind when we watched Amnesty International's new video on "human rights". Under the title "The Thrill of Victory", the French department of Amnesty International issued a promotional video in support of human rights across the world. 

The video begins with an Asian woman released from a prison and then several scenes of joy, sadness and hope succeed each other. On the 53rd second of the video, there is the infamous scene of ukrainian neo-Nazis demolishing Vladimir Lenin's statue in Kharkiv!! 

More than 40% of Ukrainians express nostalgia for the Soviet Union (New Survey)

More than 40% of the Ukrainian population express nostalgia for the Soviet Union and the era of Socialism, according to a new sociological study performed by the research group "Kalmiusska Grupa" and the opinion research company "GfK Ukraine". 

More specifically, as the newspaper "Ukrainska Pravda" has reported, 43% of Ukrainians and 51% of the Donbass region residents expressed the opinion that life in the Soviet Union was better. In the western part of the country- which is widely dominated by western propaganda- 31% of the people believe that life under socialism was better than today. On the other hand, 54% of western Ukrainians prefer today's situation.

Ukrainian parliament's neo-Nazi speaker praised Hitler as the "greatest democrat"

In an outrageously provocative statement, the neo-Nazi speaker of Ukraine's parliament (Verkhovna Rada) Andriy Parubiy called Adolf Hitler a... "great person who practiced democracy". 

The hideous remark of Parubiy- a notorious fascist and admirer of Nazi Germany- took place during an interview on "ICTV" Channel.

From its side, the Communist Party of Ukraine calls on the deputies of national Parliaments from left, communist and workers' parties, deputies of the European Parliament from left parties and delegates to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to demand on their governments to take appropriate measures to punish Parubyi for the dissemination and glorification of ideas Nazism and Hitlerism.

John McCain: An imperialist warmonger and Nazi-collaborator

The notorious war hawk U.S. Senator and former Presidential candidate John McCain has died. The bourgeois political system in the United States and the corporate mass media have already started their campaign to whitewash McCain, presenting him as a “hero” and a “patriot”. 

From George W. Bush to Senator Bernie Sanders and from Barack Obama to Hollywood actor Tom Hanks, the bourgeois establishment is glorifying the Arizona Senator, presenting him as “a man of decency and honor” (Sanders) and “a patriot of the highest order”.

KKE MEPs denounce police repression against the Communist Party of Ukraine

The group of the Communist Party of Greece at the European Parliament has denounced the new escalation of repression and persecutions against the Communist Party of Ukraine by the country's authorities. 

According to 902 portal, in a question submitted to the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini, the KKE MEP Kostas Papadakis points out the following:

"The provocations and persecutions against the communists and the CP of Ukraine continue and escalate in Ukraine. This time, the cyber affairs department of the police, in coordination with the Special Police Unit (KORD), raided on Thursday 19 July in the offices of the CC of the CP of Ukraine, confiscating all the hard disks of the computers after a new police investigation ordered by the reactionary Ukrainian government which is supported by the EU."

Communist and workers' parties condemn Ukrainian state's repression, stand in solidarity with the Communist Party of Ukraine

Various Communist and Workers' Parties around the world have expressed their condemnation of the repressive methods exercised by the Ukrainian authorities against the country's Communist Party. 

A total of 33 parties have signed a joint statement in which they denounce the recent raid of Ukrainian police forces in the offices of the Communist Party of Ukraine and its First Secretary Petro Symonenko. The statement is the following:

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) decisively condemns the provocative and violent raid of the Police Forces of Ukraine in the Office of the 1st Secretary of the CC of the CP of Ukraine, Petro Symonenko, in the Party's premises in Kiev, as well as in his home.

It is an unacceptable action incorporated in the anticommunist campaign, in the orgy of persecution and repression that the reactionary government has unleashed at the expense of the Communists of Ukraine, a government that is supported also by fascist forces and has the full support of the EU, the USA and of NATO. The fact that the raid in the Premises of the CP of Ukraine was organized in the eve of the anniversary of the Great Anti-fascist Victory of the Peoples, of the anniversary of the defeat of Nazism-fascism acts as a further provocation.

Party of Communists, USA: Condemns U.S. government's hostile policy against Russia

The Party of Communists USA (PCUSA) condemns militarist efforts to isolate and harass Russia. U.S. imperialism continues to ramp up its hostility to Russia, to a point where, informed observers believe the U.S. and Russia are closer to war now more than since the overthrow of socialism in the U.S.S.R. in the early Nineties. Some even assess the hostilities to be greater than at any time since the end of World War II. The hysterical accusations grow wilder each time: Russia is accused of having shot down a Malaysian passenger jet, duped U.S. voters into electing Donald Trump, and poisoned an ex-spy, all without evidence. 

Ukraine: Anti-fascists were attacked and robbed by "National Squads" neo-Nazis in Kiev

According to the Communist Party of Ukraine, two members of the Anti-Fascist Committee of Ukraine were attacked and robbed by neo-Nazi thugs affiliated with the "National Squads" / Source: Solidnet. 

Neo-Nazis from the so-called "National Squads" attacked and robbed members of the Anti-Fascist Committee of Ukraine Alexander Kononovich and his brother. They are convinced that they were attacked because of their anti-fascist activities.

Representatives of the "National " kidnapped them February 7 at about 16:00, while Kononovichi received some printed materials (leaflets) from the company in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv. In addition, Alexander claims that they have been robbed with his brother by these attackers that demonstrated IDs of the "National".

Murderous attack against young communists by Neo-Nazi gangsters in Ukraine

In Ukraine a group of young fascists affiliated to one of the neo-Nazi parties of the country “National Corps” attacked the premises, where the youth wing of Communist Party of Ukraine gathered for plenums in Kiev. 

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine highligted in the press release on the issue that these criminal groups are controlled and supported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It was added that during the attack, the police came to the scene and as always did not interfere in the situation.

The USA, European Union and Ukraine denied to condemn Nazism at the UN General Assembly

Hiding behind the pretext of "freedom of speech", the United States- accompanied by Ukraine- voted against a resolution condemning the glorification of Nazism introduced to the Third Committee of the U.N. General Assembly by the Russian Federation. 

The resolution was approved by a recorded vote of 125 in favor to 2 against, with 51 abstentions. 

Among the abstentions are the countries of the European Union (including Greece), Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Turkey and Libya. 

KKE slams PM Tsipras for visiting Ukraine

With a statement the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) denounces the recent visit of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras in Ukraine. More specifically, the statement says:

"Prime Minister Al. Tsipras choosed to visit Ukraine in a period when a regime has been imposed in this country through coup actions, with the support of the US, EU, NATO and with the utilization even of fascist groups. 

The visit coincided with the new sharpening (of the situation) in Southeast Ukraine, with the outbreak of a new bloodshed, under the primary responsibility of the current president P.Poroshenko and his reactionary government. He (Tsipras) visited Ukraine when the parody-trial for the prohibition of the Communist Party of Ukraine is in process, when soviet and antifascist monuments are taken down and the collaborators of the nazis are extolled to the youth as "patriots".

No pasarán! We denounce the attempts to ban the Communist Party of Ukraine

Members from the International Meeting of Communist and Workers Parties (IMCWP) have released a statement denouncing the attempts to ban the Communist Party of Ukraine (CPU). 

The statement points out the invalidity of the trial and underlines the grave responsibilities of the EU, NATO and USA in the process by supporting the ultra-right and fascist forces in Ukraine.

Apart from annihilating the CPU, the Ukrainian authorities attempt to falsify and distort the country's history and turn former Nazi collaborators into heroes, says the statement.

To KKE continues its activity, condemning anti-communism, internationally denouncing and exposing the machinations of the EU and the reactionary Ukrainian government against the Communist Party of Ukraine and the activity of the communists in the country. The European Parliamentary Delegation of the KKE submitted a new question to the European Parliament, addressed to the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, F. Mogherini, concerning the lack of a law which will allow the examination of appeals against laws which prepare and arrange anti-communist measures, bans and other measures that remove basic popular freedoms.

Obama's Legacy of War and Imperialist Crimes

When Barack Obama was elected in 2008, he had been presented by various media as a "peace pigeon", as a man whose "humanitarian spirit" would- supposedly- give an end to the bloody imperialist wars waged by the Bush administration. However, the presidency of Barack Obama proved, once more, the undoubted fact that the U.S. foreign policy isn't based on persons, but on the interests of the plutocracy, the monopoly interests of the United States. 

In his farewell speech in Chicago yesterday, President Obama praised the "values" of the United States which, as he said, "become more powerful when democracy works" and "when ordinary people participate in this". During his presidency, Barack Obama proved what kind of "values" he represents- these "values" are very well known to the people in the Middle East, in northern Africa and Ukraine where his government was involved.

Fascism in Ukraine: Eurovision Song Contest winner 'Jamala' performed in neo-Nazi gathering

Her full name is Susana Jamaladinova, also known as 'Jamala'. She was the controversial winner of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. According to news reports, Jamala performed in a Neo-Nazi youth music festival called "Banderstadt" in Lutsk, Ukraine. The festival, which took place from 5th to 7th August honors the notorious Ukrainian fascist, war criminal and Nazi collaborator Stepan Bandera. 

Jamala had triumphed in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest with a much controversial, politically motivated and certainly anti-communist, song called "1944" which had as a main theme the deportation of Crimean Tatars by Stalin. Of course, the song was by itself a distortion of history: Crimea's Tatars were deported because they were Nazi collaborators. 

Intervention of KKE: Anti-communism and the glorification of Nazism

On the 29^th of June, the CP of Ukraine organized a meeting on the margins of the Summit of the Human Rights’ Council of the UN against anti-communism, the persecution at the expense of the CPU and the attempts to rehabilitate Nazism and its supporters in Ukraine. The KKE was invited to this meeting and its representative, Vangelis Katsiavas, cadre of the KKE’s delegation in the European Parliament, made an intervention as did the President of the CP Ukraine, Pyotr Simonenko and a representative of the International Association of Democratic Lawyers.

An Unholy Alliance: The ties of Social Democracy and the 'New Left' with NATO and Fascists in Ukraine

The Rosa Luxemburg Foundation and its alliance with Ukrainian leftists supporting a pro-NATO course against Russia.

The Die Linke (Left Party)-affiliated Rosa Luxemburg Foundation wants to play it safe. It relies not on historical pro-Soviet or Marxist left traditions but instead promotes a “new left”. The foundation is named after a world-renowned icon of anti-capitalist movements whose identity is bound with communist and anti-imperialist ideas. But the members of the Foundation’s leadership recommend to the left a convergence with the ‘liberal imperialism’ of the global hegemon, the USA.

Understandably, this requires some political flexibility. Progressive forces should not plant themselves on one side or the other of competing imperialist powers, says the Facebook page Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung Ukraine. It demands that the “independent left” distance itself from the NATO-EU bloc, on the one hand, and from Russia on the other hand.
