Large pre-election rally of the KKE in Thessaloniki

On Monday 16/05, the General Secretary of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), Dimitris Koutsoumbas, delivered a speech at a mass pre-election political rally in Thessaloniki, the country's second largest city. 

An excerpt from his speech reads as follows:

“During this pre-election period, an optimistic message is emerging from all over Greece: There are many more people, who, with a clearer mind, draw broader conclusions; who understand that what we have experienced, especially in recent years, was not accidental. 

Dimitris Koutsoumbas: The KKE keeps its arms open to progressive people, leftists who refuse to compromise

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) "keeps its arms open to progressive people, leftists who refuse to compromise" with the systemic 'swamp', Party Secretary General Dimitris Koutsoumbas told "Efimerida ton Syntakton" (Efsyn) newspaper in an interview published on Saturday.

Referring to the May 21 parliamentary elections, he said that "there are many responding to our invitation, and many honest people who have joined our ballots, former deputies, Eurodeputies, and officials and members of SYRIZA, ANTARSYA and LAE," naming the main opposition party and other leftist parties.

Greek Election 2023: KKE's main pre-election rally in Athens on Wednesday 17 May

The main pre-election rally of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), ahead of the May 21 Parliamentary Elections, will take place in Syntagma Square, Athens, on Wednesday 17 May at 8 pm. 

Dimitris Koutsoumbas. the Party's General Secretary, will be the major speaker.

Other major pre-election rallies will take place in Thessaloniki on Monday 15 May, at 7.30 pm, as well as in Patras on Tuesday 16 May at 8 pm.

Koutsoumbas: Only the strength of the KKE will be the indicator of the people’s strength after the elections

In Ioannina, the capital of the Epirus region, the great political campaign of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE)  continued on 4/5, in order convey the call for the strengthening of the KKE, from the ends of Greece,to every working man and woman and youngster.

As D. Koutsoumbas, General Secretary of the KKE Central Committee, noted: “Only the strength of the KKE will be the indicator of the people’s strength after the elections. And the people of Ioannina have every interest in electing a communist MP for the first time in years."

What does the term “left” mean today?

The truth is that it is a term that has been abused by many people over time, both in Greece and internationally.

“The only worthy vote for the people and the young generation is the vote for the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), which expresses the consistency of words and works; which will not lead to disappointment; which the people and the youth will find by their side in every struggle; which exerts pressure for a sigh of relief; which sheds a light and paves the way for the real way out”, stresses KNE, presenting its first pre-election video ahead of the elections that will be held on 21 May.

KKE: Resolution of the Central Committee on the political developments and the upcoming elections

Resolution by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) on the political developments and the upcoming electoral battle:

1. The Central Committee of the KKE met and agreed on the Party’s programme of action for the following period, based on the political and economic developments and with a view to the upcoming battle of the parliamentary elections.

It approved the main body of the Party’s candidates in the parliamentary, regional and municipal elections and elaborated key issues concerning the content of the political call in view of the election battles. 

Mass event of the KKE in Thessaloniki

On Saturday 28/01, the “Palais des Sports” stadium in Thessaloniki was filled with thousands of toiling people of all ages who responded to the invitation of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and participated in the mass political-cultural event of the Party Organization of Central Macedonia of the KKE. The speech was delivered by Dimitris Koutsoumbas, GS of the CC of the KKE.

The event highlighted the positive impact of the KKE’s call to the people to turn the page and write their own story, focusing on their needs.
