Brussels: Event against EU anti-communism to be organized by KNE on November 9-11

With a three-day event, which will take place in Brussels from 9 to 11 November, the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) gives a powerful response to the European Union's anti-communist resolutions and fiestas. 

According to Rizospastis, the program includes visits in a Nazi concentration camp, walks in places of historical significance in Brussels, as well as an event in the European Parliament.

EU Parliament: KKE's Papadakis slams Ukraine's FM over persecutions on communists

The ban on the Communist Party of Ukraine and its newspaper was denounced by the MEP of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) Kostas Papadakis in a discussion with Vadym Prystaiko, Ukraine's Foreign Minister, at the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee (AFET). The KKE MEP specifically stated the following:

"On July 16, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine imposed a ban on the CP of Ukraine. On August 19, the Kyiv District Court banned the circulation of the "Rabochaya Gazeta" (Workers' Newspaper) of the CP Ukraine. It also stripped the Party of the right to participate in elections. The above demonstrates the hypocritical slogans of "freedom", "human rights" and "civil liberties".

Brussels: Militant demonstration against EU Parliament's anti-communist resolution

With a militant protest organized by the Communist Party of Belgium in Brussels, members and friends of communist parties, workers and immigrants raised their voice against the EU Parliament's despicable anti-communist resolution which distorts history by equating communism with fascism. 

The demonstration was attended by the organizations of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and KNE in Belgium, as well as by the KKE group in the European Parliament. 

"Si Fottano!": Italian communist leader Marco Rizzo tore up EU Parliament's resolution which equates communism with fascism

Thousands of members and supporters of the Communist Party (Partito Comunista) from across the country gathered on Saturday in Rome's Piazza Santi Apostoli, protesting against Italy's bourgeois government and the European Union. 

In a symbolic gesture, the General Secretary of the Communist Party, Italy, Marco Rizzo tore up a copy of the recent EU Parliament's resolution which equates communism with fascism. In his speech, Rizzo condemned the resolution for rewriting history through the unhistorical and despicable claim that the 1939 Molotov-Ribbentrop pact was the cause behind the Second World War. 

Communist youth organizations condemn the EU Parliament's anti-communist resolution

After an initiative by the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), numerous communist youth organization around the world have signed a joint resolution in which the condemn the recent despicable anti-communist resolution adopted by the European Parliament. 

As 902 portal reports, the joint declaration of the communist youth organizations, among other things, expresses condemnation towards the EU Parliament's resolution because it "promotes the equation of communism with fascism, in fact exonerating the fascists and their activity".

On the occasion of the recent despicable anti-communist resolution passed in the EU Parliament, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Workers of Spain (PCTE) Ástor García issued an open letter to the General Secretary of the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) and Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sánchez.

EU Parliament's new despicable anti-communist resolution distorts history

Once again the EU Parliament proves its role as a leading instrument of anti-communist distortion of history. 

In a joint resolution signed by the political groups of the People's Party, the Social Democrats, the Liberals, the Greens and the Conservative Reformists, the EU tries - once again - to equate communism with fascism-nazism and legalize the unacceptable reactionary measures against the Communist Parties and their activity in a number of member-states. 

Czech authorities disrespect history - Hands Off Marshal Ivan Konev's statue!

In a decision of disrespect towards the city's liberator, the Prague 6 authorities have ordered that the statue of Marshal Ivan Konev, a Soviet hero of WW2, be covered up and hidden behind scaffolding. 

According to the local authorities this is the cheapest way to protect the statue from vandalism!

Just a few days ago unknown thugs desecrated the monument with spray paint, writing the slogan "No to the bloody marshal, we will not forget" and the date "1968". The attack took place on the eve of the 51th anniversary of the Soviet intervention against the counterrevolutionary forces in Czechoslovakia. 

KKE: Question in the EU Parliament on the ban of the Communist Party of Ukraine's newspaper

The group of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) in the European Parliament denounces the ban of the newspaper of the CP of Ukraine. MEP Lefteris Nikolaou-Alavanos submitted a question to the European Commission asking its position on these provocative anti-communist decisions which try to ban the propagation of communist ideas. In his question, the MEP of the KKE highlights the following:

“After the unacceptable decision of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine on July 16 imposing a ban on the CP of Ukraine, the Administrative Court of Kiev on August 19, utilizing the entire anti-communist legal arsenal of the Ukrainian governments, also proceeded to ban "Workers’ Newspaper", the newspaper of the CP of Ukraine.

KKE denounces the unhistorical anti-communist fiestas of the European Union

Once again the European Union and the governments of the Baltic countries have promoted the commemoration of August 23rd as a "European Day of Remembrance for the victims of totalitaranism and authoritarian regimes". 

Towards this direction, they reproduce the unhistorical and dangerous equation of communism with fascism. 

In statement published in 902 portal, the delegation of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) in the European Parliament denounces the unhistorical and anti-communist fiestas of the EU. 

Lithuania: The sickle and hammer still frightens the country's ruling class...

The sickle and hammer still frightens the hell out of the ruling class of Lithuania. In an anti-communist rant, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania  Linas Linkevicius called on US e-commerce giant "Amazon" to stop selling Soviet-themed goods online, saying the hammer and sickle symbol "offended victims of totalitarian communism".

In a statement to the AFP, Linkevicius repeated the known unfounded anti-communist slanders by saying: "It is offensive. Stalinist crimes are not sufficiently well understood. It is a matter of historical justice".

Being a communist is "an incurable disease". This is what Emilio Iacopi, a local representative of Matteo Salvini's Northern League (Lega Nord) and a former sergeant of Italian police, wrote during an anti-communist rant on social media. 

According to La Riscossa, organ of the Communist Party, Italy (Partito Comunista), the General Secretary of the Communist Party Marco Rizzo responded to the hideous remarks of Iacopi. More specifically he wrote on Twitter:

Poland's right-wing government honors WW2 Nazi collaborators

Polish officials and members of far-right groups attended the
event in Warsaw.

It has become a tradition for the bourgeois governments in the Baltic countries and Poland to pay tribute to various militant groups which collaborated with the Nazis in the Second World War. 

This time, it was the turn for the right-wing government of the ruling "Law and Justice" party in Poland to honor the veterans of the so-called "Holy Cross Mountains Brigade", an underground force that collaborated with Nazi German forces against the communists towards the end of the war. 

Myths and reality about HBO's Chernobyl series

The series refer to the explosion that took place on April 26, 1986 in nuclear reactor no 4 of the Chernobyl power plant close to the city of Priyat in northern Ukraine. Although this highly-acclaimed US-British production manages to kindle the viewer's interest by gaining an unexpected impact, it is neither unique nor original. It consists a more "clever" and better elaborated effort to combat the communist ideology through anti-sovietism. 

KKE intervention at the European Parliament: "Hands Οff Polish and Ukrainian Communists"

Kostas Papadakis, MEP of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), made an intervention on the anti-communist prosecutions in Poland and Ukraine in a debate with Commissioner Vĕra Jourová in the European Parliament's Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee (LIBE), denouncing the Commissioner's unacceptable answers to the relevant questions of the Group of the KKE in the European Parliamentand EU's hypocritical interest in “human rights”.

In his speech, the MEP of the KKE stressed the following:

Greece: Anti-communist MP elected Parliament Speaker with SYRIZA, MERA25 backing

ND MP and Parliament Speaker Kostas Tasoulas.

With a record 283 votes New Democracy's (ND) veteran MP and former Culture and Sports Minister, Konstantinos Tasoulas, was elected earlier today as the new Speaker of the Greek Parliament. 

A long-time MP for the district of Ioannina, Tasoulas was approved by New Democracy, main opposition SYRIZA, centre-left Movement for Change (KINAL/PASOK), the far-right Greek Solution and Varoufakis' MERA25. 

Solidarität mit Polnischen Kommunisten: Party of Labour of Austria (PdA) denounces the anti-communist actions of the Polish government

In a declaration issued on June 11, 2019 in Vienna, the Party of Labour of Austria (PdA) strongly denounces the escalation of anti-communist policies and the distortion of history implemented by the government of Poland and expresses solidarity with the Communist Party of Poland (KPP).

Stop anti-communist persecution in Poland - Statement by the Communist Party (KPP)

Anti-communist persecution in Poland intensifies as the state authorities attempt to criminalize the communist activity by changes of the penal code. This is an element of the anti-communist campaign aimed at banning the Communist Party of Poland. 

The legal changes are also a part of the persecution such as a trial of the members of the CPP and the „Brzask" editorial board, lasting for about 3,5 years, despite the fact that the court on January declared them as innocent. At the same time the Polish authorities raise other obstacles to the communist activity as well as falsifying the history and destroying anything connected with communism and the Peoples' Poland.

Despicable: Tsipras signs EU Council's vulgar anti-communist declaration in Romania

A shameful delcaration was signed yesterday, Thursday 9 May, by the EU leaders at Sibiu, Romania, during an unofficial summit. All together, "liberals" and "social democrats", "conservatives" and "progressives", confirmed the rottenness of the so-called "founding values" of the EU. The declaration of Sibiu, signed on 9 May (on the anniversary of the Great Anti-Fascist Victory), is another memorial of hideous anti-communism.
