The historical development of capitalism in its
imperialist phase continuously confirms Lenin’s thesis that, as the
domination of monopolies deepens and the contradictions of the
capitalist system intensify, the bourgeoisie progressively abandons its
own “democratic” forms of rule and turns toward increasingly
reactionary, authoritarian, and violent methods. This process
corresponds to the objective necessity of maintaining class power in a
context of crisis, inter-imperialist competition, and the potential rise
of working-class struggle.

With this Resolution, on the occasion of the 24th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties in Havana from 7 to 9 August 2026, we express our solidarity with Cuba and its people, we honour the memory and historic contribution of Comandante Fidel Castro Ruz, leader of the Communist Party of Cuba and of the Cuban Revolution, on the centenary of his birth commemorated this year.
In Uzbekistan, the well known blogger and left wing activist Aziz Khakimov was given a harsh sentence of 4 years and 2 months in prison for speaking out against the rehabilitation of the leaders of the Basmachi movement of 1918-1944. His only “crime” was that he called them murderers and executioners of the people!

A century after the birth of Fidel Castro Ruz, on 13 August 1926, the hatred directed against him has hardly diminished. Nearly ten years after his death, the same vocabulary is repeated with remarkable persistence: “dictator,” “tyrant,” “totalitarian.” Fidel is vilified, the Cuban Revolution is slandered, its achievements are denied or reduced to inconvenient footnotes, while the Cuba that existed before January 1959 is carefully pushed out of sight.
