The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) has designated 4-12 July as Anti-NATO Summit in
response to the NATO Summit taking place in Ankara within the same
week. As part of the week’s activities, the party will organize marches
and public events in several cities across the country, while also
hosting an international summit in İstanbul.
The summit will bring together communist and workers’ parties from NATO member states, along with representatives of the World Peace Council and the World Federation of Democratic Youth. The gathering is intended to express a united and uncompromising opposition to NATO’s latest plans.
Held in response to the NATO Summit—where decisions expected to have
serious consequences for our people and the peoples of the world are
anticipated to be discussed—the meeting will provide a platform for
communists to examine NATO’s anti-people policies in their respective
countries, address the current priorities of the anti-imperialist
struggle, and exchange experiences on strengthening international
coordination against NATO.
The event will also be open to the press, and its conclusions are expected to be released to the public simultaneously. Through this meeting, it is aimed to expose NATO’s true face to a broader audience, strengthen anti-imperialist consciousness, and send a strong warning against governments in Turkey and around the world becoming more deeply involved in imperialist war plans.
