KKE condemns the murder of Oleg Khorzhan, leader of the Communist Party of Transnistria

"The KKE condemns the murder of Oleg Khorzhan and demands that the competent authorities immediately start the investigation of this heinous crime and the exemplary punishment of those responsible", reads a statement of the International Relations Section of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE).

On 16/7/23 Oleg Khorzhan, leader of the Communist Party of Transnistria, was found murdered in his house in the village of Sukleia.

The Investigative Committee of Transnistria reported that on the morning of July 17, Khorjan's body "with signs of violent death was found by the ex-wife in the office of a private house in the village of Sukleya."

"During a preliminary examination on the body of the deceased, the forensic expert found multiple stab wounds in the neck and back, several injuries, presumably from hits with a hard object in the head area. The safe in the office was open and empty. It was established that the crime was committed on the night of July 16-17. One of the versions is a murder with the intent of a robbery," the ministry said in a statement.

On July 9, Khorzhan signed a declaration with the Moldovan non-parliamentary opposition party "Civil Congress" on the solidarity struggle for the rights and freedoms of the inhabitants of both banks of the Dniester.
