The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) on Erdogan's re-election: No room for pessimism, we 'll be victorious

In a statement for Tayyip Erdogan's victory in the second round of the Turkish presidential elections, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) points out:

"Those who are trying to squeeze the struggle of this people into the ballot box should shut up from now on!

The results of the second round of the presidential elections have been largely finalized. Of course, it cannot be said that what emerged as the outcome of the elections, which were pointed to determine the fate of Turkey, is a hope for a bright future.

On Sunday 28 May, the people of Turkey will vote in the 2nd round of the presidential election, between the two contestants, current President Rejep Tayyip Erdoğan and his opponent Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. 

 

In fact, both Erdoğan and Kılıçdaroğlu, despite their particular differences, are competing over who will serve better the interests of the Turkish monopolies, aiming at the reconstruction of the country's capitalist economy in favor of the big capital. 

 

Statement of the Communist Party of Türkiye on the result of the May 14 elections

Statement of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) on the outcome of the May 14 Election:

Defeating the AKP by becoming like the AKP was a great illusion and deceiving the people. The so-called Nation Alliance is the subject of this illusion and the effort to deceive the people.

AKP, on the other hand, has been deceiving the country for more than 20 years. 

What will happen in Turkey if the Communist Party comes to power on May 14...

General elections in Turkey are scheduled to take place on May 14th and the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) has announced what it would do during the first week after coming to power:

In just one (1) week...

— We will provide electricity, water, natural gas and urban transport free of charge.
    
— We will start working to ensure that all our citizens have a house where they can live humanely within one year, we will seize the houses owned by large construction companies and distribute them to those in need, we will ensure that the rents of our citizens who do not own a house are paid by the state in this one year. 

A strong TKP in Türkiye and a strong KKE in Greece — that's what the people need

Elections in Greece will be held on May 21. While it was expected that the elections would be held on an earlier date, they were postponed due to the train accident, which can be considered a "working class agenda". What is the political atmosphere in which Greece moves towards the elections?

Turkey: Communist, Left parties formed the “Union of Socialist Forces”

An electoral alliance under the name “Union of Socialist Forces” (Sosyalist Güç Birliği) was formed in Turkey in order to context in the upcoming general elections which are due to be held on 18 June 2023.

Under the slogan “We protect the future of our country together”, the electoral alliance was announced on August 20th during a press conference in Ankara. 

 

The participatory parties include the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP), the Left Party (SOL), the Communist Movement of Turkey (TKH) and the Revolution Movement (Devrim Hareketi).
