NO TO THE VISIT OF THE U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE M. POMPEO

Statement by the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the KKE.

The KKE calls on workers, the people and the youth to rise against the visit of the US Secretary of State, M. Pompeo, and above all against the conversion of Greece into a vast US-NATO base. This is also the content of the “Strategic Dialogue” with the US, initiated by the former SYRIZA government in Phase I and enhanced by the ND government with the current Phase II.

Greece — U.S. military installations in Crete and the mainland to be upgraded and extended

Greece's involvement in the imperialist plans of U.S. and NATO increases as a result of the agreement between the U.S. and Greek governments which upgrades and extends the american military installations in the country. 

According to an exclusive report published in "Rizospastis" on Monday, within the framework of the "Greece-USA Mutual Defense Cooperation Agreeement (MDCA)", the governments of the United States and Greece have agreed to extend the U.S. Naval Base in Souda, Crete, as well as to proceed to the creation of new military installations. The agreement is due to take place in 2020. 

Greek anti-imperialist movement calls for action against USA-Greece military agreement

In a statement issued this week the Greek Committee for International Detente and Peace (EEDYE) announces that it will undertake initiatives and organize mobilizations against the "Greece-USA Mutual Defense Cooperation Agreement". 

Under the slogan "NO TO BASES, NO TO NUCLEAR WEAPONS", EEDYE calls the people's movement to stand against the dangerous imperialist plans in the region, focusing on the upcoming visit of the U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Athens in the beginning of October.

45 years since the Turkish invasion in Cyprus - Statement by the Communist Party of Greece

The 20th of July marks the 45th anniversary since the invasion of the Turkish armed forces in Cyprus which led to the island's partition and the occupation of the 37% of Cyprus by Turkey.

During his intervention at the plenary of the European Parliament in Strasburg, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) MEP Kostas Papadakis denounced the aggression of the Turkish bourgeois class in Cyprus and the Aegean, pointing out that this stance is fueled by the policy of the United States, the European Union and NATO.

On the occasion of the latest dangerous developments at the Bay of Oman and the U.S. provocations against Iran, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) issued the following statement: 

The last attacks against tankers in the Bay of Oman ignite once again the developments around Iran. The USA as if they were “already prepared”, put Iran in the cross-hair and rally more military forces in the region.

Spain: PSOE government deepens its role as a lackey of US imperialism - Statement by PCTE

In a statement the Communist Party of the Workers of Spain (PCTE) slams the social democratic government of Pedro Sánchez for deepening its role as a lackey of USA imperialism. The statement refers to the presense of more US troops in the naval station of Rota in Cádiz:

"The interim PSOE government has accepted the reinforcement of USA military troops in the naval station Rota (Cádiz) with a detachment of navy helicopters, which also leads to the increase of the US detachment in 30 more soldiers. The intentions of the US Government to improve and replace its launcher destroyer warships for more updated and with more capacity ones have been recently announced.

Kosovo: Mass murderers Clinton, Albright return to crime scene 20 years later

Twenty years later, the murderers of the Yugoslavian people return to the crime scene. Those who bombed Yugoslavia in 1999, spreading terror and death, are celebrating their atrocities in the NATO protectorate of Kosovo. 

Former US President Bill Clinton and top diplomat Madeleine Albright are among Western leaders flocking to Kosovo to receive honors by ethnic Albanian militants they backed in the 1999 NATO massacre against Yugoslavia. 

On Tuesday, Clinton arrived in Kosovo to receive honors from the ethnic Albanian authorities. He was presented with a medal by “President” Hashim Thaci (former leader of the terrorist paramilitary KLA organisation), and a commemorative postage stamp bearing his face.

"The situation in the Eastern Mediterranean is dangerous"- Statement by the KKE

The Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) in its statement on the developments in the Eastern Mediterranean notes:

"The situation in the Eastern Mediterranean is dangerous. This is clear due to the violation of Cyprus' EEZ by the Turkish drilling ship "Fatih" and the search and rescue ship "Barbaros", the threats of the Turkish government regarding Cyprus and the Aegean, as well as due to the intensification of the criminal Israeli aggression against Palestine and its bombing of Gaza.

PAME: The SYRIZA government washes its hands in the blood of the children of Palestine

On the occasion of the new strikes of the Israeli military forces against Gaza, the All-Workers Militant Front (PAME) issued the following statement, strongly condemning the new bombings and accusing the SYRIZA government for being an accomplice in the crime:

PAME condemns the new, murderous raids of Israel against the Palestinian People.

The murderer-State of Israel went on a new escalation of its aggressiveness against Gaza and held dozens of raids the last days, which resulted in dozens killed.

KKE: Statement for the 2019 Workers' May Day

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) issued a statement regarding the International Workers' Day - May 1st, which was published in the Party's official gazette "Rizospastis".

"NATO must be destroyed" - Statement by the European Communist Initiative

NATO was established seventy years ago, in 1949, in order to block the ideological and political influence of socialism and the Soviet Union, which had greatly increased after the Second World War, as well as its military power. As of its establishment, NATO became one of the headquarters of anti-communism and an imperialist alliance aimed to stop the rise of the working class. Their war policies of relentless military harassment threatened with direct military attacks, including nuclear ones, against the countries that were building socialism, which was answered in May 1955 with the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance in Warsaw.

KKE: The 70th anniversary of NATO is a "black anniversary" for the people around the world

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the imperialist alliance of NATO, the Press Bureau of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) issued a statement, calling it a "black anniversary for the people in all over the world". More specifically the KKE points out:

"The 70th anniversary of NATO's foundation is a black anniversary for the people in all over the world, but also an opportunity to look back at the bloodstained history of the imperialist organization which continues in our times.

20 years later Greek Communists did not forget NATO's imperialist crime against Yugoslavia

In a fully-packed ceremony hall, at the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, hundreds of members and supporters of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) attended the Party's political event in commemoration of the 20 years since the bombardment of Yugoslavia by NATO imperialists. 

The event began with a 15 minute video depicting moments from the 1999 anti-imperialist, anti-war mass mobilizations in Thessaloniki and elsewhere in Greece, in which the communists had a leading role.

Don't Forget Yugoslavia: 20 years since NATO's crime in the Balkans

It was March 24, 1999, twenty years ago, when the imperialists of USA-NATO-EU were launching the last mass slaughter of the 20th century against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. 

NATO's war in Yugoslavia was the peak of the country's fragmentation, a process which was steadily orchestrated after the counterrevolutionary overthrows in the Soviet Union and eastern Europe in the beginning of 90s. The dominance of capitalist relations of production in Yugoslavia after many decades, marked the kick off of its dissolution. That was a great opportunity for the vulptures of capitalism, US and European monopolies, to extend their businesses in new markets and feed on the remains of the former Federal Yugoslavia.

20 YEARS SINCE NATO CRIME IN YUGOSLAVIA: Belgrade to host international conference on March 22-24

On the occasion of the tragic 20th anniversary since the imperialist attack of NATO, US and the EU against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the Belgrade Forum for the World of Equals and the World Peace Council (WPC) organize an international conference in Belgrade, on March 22-24. 

The conference, which is a commemoration "against forgetting the 1999 NATO aggression", is expected to be attended representatives from peace and anti-imperialist organizations from around 40 countries. 

Anti-NATO mass mobilizations to take place in Washington DC on March 30-31

The World Peace Council (WPC), in collaboration with the U.S. Peace Council, organizes mobilizations against the murderous imperialist alliance of NATO on March 30th and 31st, 2019. 

The mobilizations include protests and demonstrations throughout the city, in front of the White House, concerts, as well as an Anti-NATO Conference on Sunday 31st March.
