63rd Anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution

By Nikos Mottas

The Cuban Revolution inspired and continues to inspire the workers-people's struggles in all over the world, proving the vitality of the Marxist-Leninist worldview and the significance of proletarian internationalism. Figures such as Fidel Castro, Che Guevara, Camilo Cienfuegos, Vilma Espin, Fran Pais and others became eternal symbols of the revolutionary working class movement throughout the world.

Under the leadership of Comandante en Jefe Fidel Castro Ruz and with the decisive contribution of the Soviet Union and other socialist states, Cuba achieved a number of extraordinary – unprecedented in Latin America - achievements in sectors such as Health, Education, Womens' Rights, Culture, Sports, etc.

Cuba managed to stand firm and thrive despite the barbaric and genocidal economic, financial and trade blockade imposed by the United States' governments for sixty years. The Cuban Revolution did not bend even when it lost its most valuable allies, the Soviet Union and the socialist countries, after the counterrevolutionary overthrows in the early 1990s.

The social achievements of the Cuban people are becoming even more apparent today within the conditions of the pandemic. While capitalist countries in Europe and the Americas are facing the disastrous effects of the commercialization of Public Health, Cuba is emerging victorious from the battle with Covid-19. Having produced five vaccines, the country maintains one of the highest vaccination rates in the world and, at the same time, proves its role as a champion of internationalist solidarity by organizing medical assistance to other nations through the “Henry Reeve Brigade”.

In a period when the U.S. administration under President Biden maintains the barbaric blockade and escalates the aggressive, provocative actions against the government and the people of Cuba, we have the moral duty to strengthen internationalist solidarity towards the proud homeland of Jose Marti and Fidel Castro.

Today, 63 years later, the support and solidarity towards the Cuban people is a duty for the working class in every part of the world. It is a sacred task for all those who understand the necessity for the intensification of struggle against the rotten capitalist system, against imperialism, for the abolition of exploitation of man by man.

Honor and glory to the Cuban Revolution!
Until Victory, forever!
