Reem Hazan, CPI cadre |
“Last night (Thursday) the Israeli cabinet approved the beginning of a full-scale occupation of the Gaza Strip. We warn of the continuation of ethnic cleansing, the war of extermination and the further destruction of Gaza,” Hazan says and continues:
Reactions within Israel are growing
Regarding the impact of the images of starving Palestinians inside Israel, Reem Hazan points out:
“In recent weeks, following images of famine, brutal killings, and Israel’s failure to communicate its narrative to the world, more voices have been growing in Israel – and in the world, which can no longer deny it – demanding an end to the war and a cessation of further involvement in it.
The peoples, the free people of the world, unlike most of their governments, support the right to liberation and the anti-war struggle.
We have seen this in dozens of countries, with a steady increase, since this government decided to proceed with changing the characteristics and borders of the region, under the pretext of defending its right to exist, which cannot be done at the expense of other peoples and their right to sovereignty and independence - in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Greece, Cyprus and all the countries of the world!
The persistence of the solidarity movements in the struggle of the Palestinian people and in the anti-war movements is shaping the desired cumulative effect, even if it seems slow to us. This hypocrisy, double standards, and subordination of International Law to allow Israel to abuse, plunder and dominate the region, cannot continue.
On the slanders about “anti-Semitism”
On the importance of the solidarity expressed worldwide in the struggle of the Palestinians, but also concerning the slander of “anti-Semitism” directed by the state of Israel and its allies towards anyone who denounces their crimes, the cadre of the Communist Party of Israel said to “Rizospastis”:
“The international isolation of Israel’s policies and crimes, which is mainly led by popular and leftist movements, has become one of the most powerful weapons of defense of the Palestinian people. We welcome the efforts of your Party, your cadres, your followers in Greece for their effective opposition to the supply of weapons that aim, on the one hand, to the continuation of the genocide, and on the other hand, to the disintegration of the region and sovereignty over it.
Opposing the policies of the Israeli government, which seek war both domestically and internationally, is an internationalist duty, based on a History of struggle that opposes policies and practices, a struggle that isn't hostile towards entire peoples.
The allegations of anti-Semitism, which are hurled whenever criticism and rejection of Israeli policies are expressed, are a means designed to perpetuate the narrative of the Zionist project, which serves neither the interests of Jews nor Israelis, but the interests of colonial powers and hostility towards the peoples of the region.
We, in the Communist Party of Israel and the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality (Hadash), continue to organize protests inside Israel, by Palestinians and Jews, in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Nazareth, the Galilee and the coastal cities. We continue to work to strengthen the struggle partnerships to overthrow this government and change public opinion in Israel through local and national partnerships, such as the "Partnership for Peace", the first and broadest anti-war alliance, for liberation and peace.
We continue to participate in strengthening the steadfast resistance of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Gaza, through donation campaigns, especially the "Think of Gaza" campaign, led by our comrades, and through solidarity visits.
Against measures of silencing and repression

Anti-War Protest in Tel Aviv |
The police have closed down the Party’s headquarters in Haifa, raided the Party and Front’s headquarters in Nazareth more than once, and prevented the convening of the Front’s Regional Council. This is in addition to the police repression of protests, the violence against demonstrators, and the restrictions on popular struggle and organization.
Our representatives in the Knesset (Parliament) are subjected to incessant fascist attacks, through sanctions such as temporary bans and economic sanctions, and in the streets, through physical attacks.
We realize that these are small costs compared to what the Palestinian people are experiencing, and the positions of the Party and the Front, which are always hostile to the authorities, may have further costs. Repression and fascistization are intensifying. Persistent efforts to exclude our members from the Knesset continue, with the aim of depriving us of the right to participate in the elections, banning the Party or its Program and its action.
The crisis of the regime in Israel is escalating. This war serves as a cover for the continuation of Netanyahu’s rule and the implementation of his expansionist and hegemonic plans, which aim to change our region.”
Deep appreciation for the solidarity of the KKE
The cadre of the Communist Party of Israel concludes our discussion: “We appreciate the positions and actions of your fraternal Party in expressing a spirit of international solidarity and continued support for the efforts to liberate the Palestinian people, and in mobilizing popular support for a change of policy in Greece and an end to the complicity of governments in this genocide.
Pressure must also continue to shift the position of countries in Europe and the world, so that they pressure Israel with all available means, one of which is agreements with the European Union and collaborations with Israel, and therefore collaboration in this war.”
