The International Relations Section of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) has called the Greek government to support the Cuban resolution against the US blockade at the UN General Assembly.
In a statement (here in Greek), the Party stresses out:
"The KKE has consistently expressed its solidarity with the Communist Party and the people of Cuba and demands the immediate lift of all measures of the barbaric imperialist blockade imposed by the US for 65 years.

The KKE condemns the operation that the Trump administration and in particular the US State Department are currently conducting, exerting pressure and blackmailing governments around the world not to support the resolution submitted by the Cuban government to the UN General Assembly condemning the imperialist blockade. It is noteworthy that in last year's relevant vote, 187 states supported the resolution in favor of lifting the blockade of Cuba, while only the US and Israel voted against.
In this context, the New Democracy government is called upon to maintain Greece's long-standing position at the UN, which supports the Cuban resolution condemning the US blockade."
