KKE: The imperialist bargaining on Ukraine does not portend anything positive for the peoples

In a statement (here in Greek) regarding the negotiations between the US, EU-NATO, Ukraine and the Russian Federation, the Press Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) stresses out:

“The live-streamed bargaining between those responsible for the war massacre in Ukraine does not portend anything positive for the people, nor does it focus on “peacemaking” and the “end of bloodshed”, as it is provocatively presented, but on the division of territories, “security guarantees” - that is, how the political-military relationship between NATO and Russian forces in Ukrainian territories will be settled - the businesses of large monopoly groups and arms packages.

The two camps that were supposedly separated by a “gap of values”, the “liberals” and the “authoritarians”, the “right” and the “wrong side of history”, are today sitting at the same tables and drawing maps and borders with the blood of the peoples, dividing their cities, villages and homes, their natural wealth and the “pie” of the reconstruction of their war-torn Ukraine.

Whatever specific developments there may be in the coming days, whatever compromise may be reached, it will be fragile and will not change the general direction of developments, which are heading towards escalation, since the causes of the great antagonisms, in conditions of conflict for global primacy, will remain intact.

In the face of the above, our people have no interest in remaining in the role of “spectator” of the disgusting shows put on by the war hawks, while people are dying on the fronts every day. Now it is necessary to strengthen popular intervention, the struggle to end Greece’s multifaceted involvement in the imperialist war, to not even consider sending troops to Ukraine within the framework of the so-called “security guarantees” with the “stamp” of NATO and the EU, to stop the ongoing sending of military aid to the Zelensky regime, to express solidarity more decisively with the peoples suffering from the suffering of imperialist wars and at the same time to strengthen the fight against the causes that generate them.”
