EU's concern for the rise of far-right extremism and racism is hypocritical, says KKE MEP

KKE MEP Kostas Papadakis speaking in Strasbourg.
“The organized struggle of the people against the system that generates fascism can isolate the criminal-fascist gangs, said Kostas Papadakis, MEP of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), highlighting the hypocrisy of the European Union on the matter, during his intervention at the Plenary of the EU Parliament in Strasbourg.

Speaking at the debate concerning the “rise of the right-wing extremism and racism in Europe” on October 20th, the KKE MEP pointed out:

“The concern of the EU and the EU Parliament for the “rise of the far-right and racism in Europe” is hypocritical. This is proven by the despicable “two-extremes” theory, the equation of communism with the monster of fascism repeated by the EU and governments, the falsification of history, anti-communism and the prohibitions on Communist Parties. The above feed and whitewash the far-right, the fascist forces. They are fueled by the policy of deportations, repatriations, the superstructures-prisons for refugees and immigrants which cultivate racism.

The attacks of far-rightists and fascists in Rome, as well as the murderous activity of fascist criminal groups in Greece have the support of bourgeois state mechanisms, police forces and are covered by government's staff.

The release of a Golden Dawn member, a year after the conviction of the criminal-Nazi group, is outrageous. There is no room for complacency. Fascism and the system that generates it, capitalism, have a common ground which is the power of the monopolies.

The people, with their organization and struggle, have the power to isolate these gangs, to eliminate the causes that generate fascism”.
