Born in 1924, Mavrodoglou participated in the Greek Resistance against the Axis Occupation during the Second World War, being a member of EPON (United Panhellenic Organization of Youth) and ELAS (Greek People's Liberation Army). He became a member of the KKE in 1944.
From 1978 to 1996, he was member of the Party's Central Committee, while he served in various positions within the trade unionist movement. A builder by profession, Mavrodoglou served as President of the Federation of Pensioners of Greece.
In a statement, the CC of the KKE pays farewell to Diamantis Mavrodoglou, underlining his significant, long-time contribution in the working class struggle.
