Multi-millionaire Tim Gurner is the genuine voice of the capitalists: “We’ve got to kill the workers' struggles"

By Nikos Mottas.

Australian millionaire Tim Gurner said what all capitalists are thinking. He expressed the aspirations of all exploiters: To kill the struggles of the working class.

Speaking on September 12th at the building industry summit held by the Australian Financial Review (AFR), property developer Gurner said that "workers have become arrogant" and that "unemployment has to jump 40 to 50 percent".

“I think the problem that we’ve had is that people decided that they really didn’t want to work so much any more through COVID. And that has had a massive effect on productivity. You know, tradies have definitely pulled back on productivity. They have been paid a lot to do not too much in the last few years and we need to see that change", Gurner pointed out.

“We need to see unemployment rise—unemployment has to jump 40 to 50 percent in my view,” he said.

Expressing the aspirations of the capitalists, the Australian businessman underlined that “We need to see pain in the economy". In fact, pain for the workers and profits for the capital.

Speaking like a modern slave-owner of the 21st century, Gurner said: “We need to remind people that they work for the employer, not the other way around. There’s been a systematic change where employees feel the employer is extremely lucky to have them as opposed to the other way around. It’s a dynamic that has to change.”

Without mincing his words, the parasite continued: “We’ve got to kill that attitude and that has to come through hurt in the economy which is what the world is trying to do. The governments are trying to increase unemployment to get some sort of normality.”

For Mr Gurner and his class, "normality" means the perpetuation and strengthening of exploitation.

With or without intention, Gurner said the pain truth, revealing the class war agenda of the bourgeoisie.

They want to drag humanity into modern slavery. To strengthen the exploitation of the working class everywhere, to crush the workers' rights and struggles.

The message from the working class must be resounding: The plans of the capitalists shall not pass! We will not become slaves of the 21st century!

The words of Marx and Engels in the Manifesto of the Communist Party are today more timely than ever:  "Let the ruling classes tremble at a Communistic revolution. The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win".
