Israeli Communist Party, Hadash-Ta'al condemn IDF's military attack in Jenin

On Sunday night, the Israeli army launched an attack in the Palestinian refugee camp of Jenin, north of the occupied West Bank, which has so far resulted in the death of 10 Palestinians and the injury of, at least, 103.

The military attack began with an aerial attack on the city's refugee camp, "as part of an effort to thwart the widespread threat of terrorism in Judea and Samaria," as the IDF spokesman said.

The Secretary General of the Israeli Communist Party (MKI), Adel Amer, condemned the attack on Jenin: "The ground and air attack that began last night against Jenin is a step up in the violence of the occupation. The government, which is led by extremist settler leaders, is doing everything in order to increase the violence. They are looking for blood and escalation. They want to turn Jenin into another Gaza - a besieged city that is attacked every morning, when the residents have nowhere to flee. Only the overthrow of this terrorist government and the pursuit of an end to the occupation and the realization of the national rights of the Palestinian people, first of all the right to self-determination and the establishment of An independent state, they will bring an end to the cycle of bloodshed."

The Hadash-Ta'al faction also commented on the operation in Jenin that began tonight. In a statement, the coalition stated that "the Israeli thesis that what does not go with force will go with more force has failed again and again, and will fail this time as well. Meanwhile, many Palestinians pay with their lives and wake up to a night of shelling and wild Israeli aggression. The only solution is to end the occupation and control over the Palestinian people."

It was further stated that "Such attacks inflame the cycle of bloodshed and lead to an inevitable Palestinian response, just as it has been in recent months, and the continuation of the bloodshed. There is no symmetry between the occupier and the conquered and the price is paid mainly by the Palestinians, but also by the Israelis. It is time to try the only solution that has not been tried: The end of the occupation. This is the just and correct solution, for both the Palestinian and Israeli interests".
