KKE blasts Greek government's gas deals with Euro-Atlantic puppet Zelensky

In a statement (here in Greek) concerning the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Greece and his meeting with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Sunday 16 November, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) stresses out:

"The American dealers of the outrageously expensive LNG had barely left Greece when the buyer arrived — none other than the head of the reactionary and corrupt regime of Ukraine who, together with the USA–NATO–EU, has dragged his own people into the bloodbath with Russia that has lasted almost four years.

Into this bloodbath — and into the broader energy war and rivalries — the Mitsotakis government continues to entangle our country ever more deeply, with the essential support of all Euro-Atlantic parties, for the sake of the interests of sections of capital that profit on multiple levels.

The same will happen with the energy agreement signed today, under the supervision of the U.S. Ambassador, alongside the overall transformation of our country into an energy and transport hub, as well as with the business deals being planned around the “reconstruction” of devastated Ukraine, from which Greek business groups are already rubbing their hands in anticipation. Meanwhile, the questions remain regarding what else was discussed concerning the continued shipment of military equipment to the Zelensky regime.

This, after all, is how the “ratings” of the evaluation houses — which the Prime Minister is celebrating — are secured: ratings that will bring no improvement to the life of the people and instead signal further attacks on their rights and “cutbacks” to their needs in order to maintain them.

The people and the youth will give their answer to the policy of war entanglement and the anti-people offensive — as well as to the provocative ban on gatherings decided by the government to welcome the Euro-Atlantic puppet Zelensky — through their mass participation in tomorrow’s anti-imperialist march to the U.S. Embassy, marking the 52nd anniversary of the Polytechnic uprising.

P.S.: It is truly outrageous for the government to use the Turkish invasion and occupation of Cyprus as a pretext for supporting the reactionary Zelensky government and advancing Euro-Atlantic plans, at the very moment when it supports the conquering and terrorist state of Israel, which uses the same methods as Turkey — such as illegal settlements."
