KKE strongly condemns Israel's settlement plans in the occupied West Bank

In a statement, the International Relations Section of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) condemns the settlement plans of the state of Israel in the occupied territories of West Bank. 

“At a time when the ruthless occupying state of Israel, backed by the US and the EU, is continuing its deadly attacks and threats in the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, Syria and the broader region, and as the US - Israel war against Iran is escalating, a highly dangerous series of settlement activities in the Palestinian West Bank is being resumed.

This criminal plan aims to encroach on and confiscate as much of the West Bank’s territory as possible, expel Palestinians from their lands, confine them to less than 40 per cent of the West Bank’s territory, including East Jerusalem, deprive them of their fundamental rights and  replace them with occupiers – settlers who murder the Palestinian people and their children on a daily basis.

The revival of the above plans is one link in a chain of creating faits accomplis in occupied Palestine and the broader region. It is linked to the reshaping of the Middle East and enjoys the support of the US, NATO, the EU and other regional allies of Israel, despite any public verbal opposition and hypocritical condemnation.

Now, more than ever, the multifaceted solidarity of the working class and the people with the heroic Palestinian people must be strengthened so that they obtain their own homeland, against the Israeli occupation and imperialist plans, against the unacceptable, complicit stance of bourgeois governments and parties that support strategic relations with the murderous state of Israel.
