“The Greek government must, without a second thought, reject Trump’s invitation to the forthcoming meeting of the so-called ‘Peace Council,’ whose real purpose is to implement a plan to transform Gaza into an American-Israeli protectorate and an investment ‘El Dorado,’ in which there would be no place for the homeland of the long-suffering Palestinian people.
Mr Mitsotakis, who from the very first moment has provided full support to the murderous state of Israel and the war criminal Netanyahu, must stop hiding behind what other EU countries may do and take a clear stand by rejecting the invitation. He must commit that not a single Greek military officer will be sent to Gaza. Anything else would constitute a disgrace for the country and would stand in complete contradiction to the will of the Greek people, serving only the interests of Greek business groups seeking to secure a share of the ‘pie’ of reconstruction.
What the government must do—nothing more and nothing less—is to stop ignoring the unanimous decision of the Greek Parliament of 2015 and proceed with the recognition of an independent Palestinian state, within the pre-1967 borders and with East Jerusalem as its capital.”
