Bernie Sanders: Just another "stooge" of US imperialism against Venezuela

The self-described as "democratic socialist", the "good friend" of the late warmonger John McCain and praiser of criminals like George H.W. Bush, Senator Bernie Sanders has already aligned himself with the reactionary, imperialist plans of the Trump administration and the right-wing Venezuelan opposition. 

Here is what the Senator from Vermont wrote in his personal Twitter account:

"The people of Venezuela are enduring a serious humanitarian crisis. The Maduro government must put the needs of its people first, allow humanitarian aid into the country, and refrain from violence against protesters,” Sanders tweeted on Saturday.

Four years of SYRIZA government: A really valuable lesson for Greece's working class

The 25^th of January marked the completion of four years since the electoral victory of SYRIZA (Coalition of the Radical Left) back in 2015. Today, four years later, we can draw valuable conclusions regarding the actual role of SYRIZA in Greece's political developments. Most importantly, the Greek working class can draw conclusions which can be proved helpful in the upcoming battles of class struggle.

A pseudo-socialist: Bernie Sanders praises imperialist criminal George HW Bush...

Senator Bernie Sanders- the much publicized supposed "socialist" of the Democratic Party- did it again! In a message published on his personal Twitter account, he praised the recently deceased former U.S. President George H.W. Bush as a man who "served our country honorably", pointing out that he will be remembered for his "humble and devoted service to the country". 

What, we are compelled to ask, is Bernie Sanders, who present himself as a political figure of the left and even socialist, talking about? Did he forget about the crimes that George H.W. Bush committed during his presidential term? Doesn't he know about the imperialist wars in Iraq and Panama? Does Bernie Sanders know how many people were massacred as a result of Bush's decision to invade Iraq in the Gulf War?

PT-PCdoB coalition in Brazil: Be aware of social democracy bearing gifts, comrades!

In a highly controversial decision, which may have negative effects for the country's working class movement in the long term, the Communist Party of Brazil (PCdoB) agreed to participate in an electoral coalition with the social democratic Workers' Party (PT). 

The alliance between PCdoB and PT came as a result of the effort to create a broader alliance between "left forces" against the conservative and right-wing forces. More specifically, according to a statement issued by the Communist Party (PCdoB) "the coalition between PCdoB and PT has emerged as the possible and important alliance to build the victory of progressive forces in view of the strong orchestration of the conservative and coup forces."

"No trust in social democracy!": The PCPE exposes Pedro Sánchez's government

The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain (PCPE) issued a Resolution on July 25th titled ‘No Trust in Social-democracy! For One Country for the Working Class!’. 

Almost two months after the motion of no confidence which made Pedro Sánchez the Prime Minister, the resolution addressing the working class and the working people of Spain pointed out the mistake to place any hope in the new socialdemocrat government of the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) and the need to struggle against its policies.

Palestinian People's Party condemns Die Linke MP for visiting Israeli settlement

The Palestinian People's Party has issued a statement denouncing the visit of the parliamentary leader of the German party "Die Linke" in Israeli settlement near Gaza. 

More specifically, the statement strongly condemns the visit of the leader of the German Left Party (Die Linke), Dietmar Bartsch, in one of the settlements near the Gaza Strip, where he planted trees and expressed his solidarity. 

Mexico Elections: Social Democrats versus Neoliberals, a bourgeois game

Tomorrow, July 1st, Mexicans will elect national and local authorities, including their next president, who will lead the Latin American country for the next six years. With a population of 123 million people, Mexico is a federal state with 32 states and five regions, with a relatively slow growth rates during the last years. 

In these elections there are three major coalitions which include bourgeois parties of both social democratic and neoliberal political orientations. The candidate who has been presented by many mass media as a potential winner of the elections is Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador - also known as AMLO- who is running for the “Together We Will Make History” coalition and is leading the latest polls with an average of at least 46.3% of effective voter intention among likely voters. A former mayor of Mexico City, AMLO has run for the presidency twice and is widely regarded as the "left-wing" candidate in these elections. 

Tsipras regrets 2015 referendum, expresses full obedience to EU anti-worker reforms

In an interview to the German newspaper Die Welt, Greece's Prime Minister and SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras confirmed with his own words his total transformation into a docile impementer of the anti-people, anti-worker reforms, imposed by the EU and the capitalists. 

Speaking like a man who expresses repetance for his past, Tsipras had kind words for the German chancellor Angela Merkel, praising her role in dealing with the refugee crisis that swamped Greece in 2015, coming in the first few months of the Tsipras government's assumption of power.

Spain: "No trust" to Sánchez government, intensification of the people's struggle says the PCPE

"Not a minute of respite" towards the new government of Pedro Sánchez says the Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain (PCPE) in a statement regarding the political developments in the country. 

"The approval of the motion of censure to the Government of Mariano Rajoy opens a new political cycle. The new government will try to take definitive steps to reform the political system, following a parliamentary debate in which it has been found that it is the very nature of capitalism that generates political corruption" writes the PCPE statement and underlines: "The dispute between the parliamentary forces represents the interests of different sectors of the bourgeoisie, which has seen its class economic interests guaranteed with the commitment of Pedro Sánchez to govern with the budgets designed by the Popular Party."

Corbyn denies to condemn imperialist interference in Venezuela

Once an opportunist, always an opportunist. The leader of Britain's Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn declined to take a firm and clear position about the developments in Venezuela. Instead, he condemned "violence done by all sides", thus calling for dialogue to end civil unrest.

Speaking after an event in Crawley, West Sussex, Corbyn sounded more like the Pope who wishes "the end of violence". “I’m very sad at the lives that have been lost in Venezuela” he said. “The people who have died – either those on the streets or security forces that have been attacked by people on the street – all of those lives are terrible for the loss of them” he said.

During the last months, the bourgeois mainstream media- as well as various sources throughout the internet- have circulated numerous lies and inaccuracies about the situation in Venezuela. Within this framework of half truths and counteless inaccurcies, someone can read the most outrageous things about the Latin American country. After all, the imperialist centers and their collaborators in the mass media are experts in how to mislead and manipulate public opinion, by sowing misinformation and distorting reality.

Here, we will refer to five major lies (really blatant ones) about Venezuela and the turbulent political situation in the country and we will try to restore the truth.

Tsipras-Varoufakis: Loyal servants of the capitalist system

During the last few days we are witnessing a highly hypocritical “blame game” between Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and his former finance minister Yanis Varoufakis. In his latest book titled “Adults in the room”, Varoufakis tries to present himself as a “fighter” who resisted Europe's “deep establishment”.

In his “political thriller”, the ex-finance minister describes how the Tsipras government handled the negotiations with its creditors, outlining the role each government official played during that period. As for his former collaborator, Varoufakis writes among other things: “Alexis Tsipras appears totally overwhelmed, unable to collide with his own consultants who were pro loan agreement, in some cases he was totally manipulated by the ‘internal’ and ‘external’ Troika”.

Anti-workers rage by SYRIZA's newspaper “Avgi” challenges the right to strike!

In an anti-workers delirium that even the right-wing, neoliberal press would envy, SYRIZA party's newspaper “Avgi” launched a vociferous attack against the working people's right to strike! In an article published on 28/6, the newspaper shamelessly attacked the striking mobilizations of the municipal sanitation workers by reproducing the most reactionary arguments of the bourgeois press. Trying to justify the anti-people, anti-worker policy of the SYRIZA coalition government, “Avgi” characterizes the strike as the “ultimate medium” (!) which, according to the newspaper, should not be used frequently by the workers.

SYRIZA: The "left" servants of NATO

Tsipras justifies the U.S. imperialist attack on Syria

Europe's social democracy has showed once again its real face as an accomplice of imperialism. This time by justifying the recent barbaric airstrike of the United States against Syria. 

Greece's Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras- alongside France's President Francois Hollande, Portugal's PM Antonio Costa and Italy's PM Paolo Gentiloni- participated in the southern EU leaders summit held in Madrid.

Ecuador: Lenin Moreno's social democracy is not the answer to capitalist barbarity

"It's Official", reads the report of teleSUR, "Lenin Moreno elected President of Ecuador". Ecuadorean eleciton authorities made the results of the presidential election official Tuesday, announcing a win for renowned disability activist and former vice president Lenin Moreno of President Rafael Correa's governing Alianza Pais party. With 99.65 percent of the votes counted, the National Electoral Council, known as CNE, said the trend of Moreno's win was irreversible and that the results showed the will of the Ecuadoreans".

SYRIZA: Capitalism's social democratic servant

The 25^th of January marked the two years since SYRIZA's electoral victory. During these two years the political deception of SYRIZA and Alexis Tsipras was fully exposed. The promises of the “left-wing” SYRIZA- about the supposed “tearing” of the memorandums, the end of austerity, the abolition of unjust taxation, the incrase of wages and pensions- were proved a colossal piece of political knavery. During the last two years, the government of Alexis Tsipras was proved an excellent implementer of capital's anti-people policy, thus walking on the steps of its predecessors, the governments of New Democracy and PASOK.

Since January 2015 and its electoral triumph, the “left-wing” SYRIZA, in governmental alliance with the right-wing, nationalist party “ANEL”, managed to sign and vote a 3^rd memorandum of austerity with even harder measures than the previous two; to pass hundreds of harsh anti-people, anti-workers laws; to demolish pension rights; to impose additional heavy taxation to the popular strata; to proceed to further privatizations of state property; to attack social security rights through supposed “reforms” which demolishes whatever has remained from the workers'-people's rights.
