URGENT CALL BY THE WFTU TO EACH TRADE UNIONIST, MILITANT OF THE CLASS TRADE UNION MOVEMENT THROUGHOUT THE WORLD, IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE PEOPLE AND WORKERS OF COLOMBIA
Delegates to the 8th Party Congress from several provinces arrived in the Cuban capital on Wednesday night, excited to attend the historic event and honored to represent millions of Cubans.
In strict compliance with COVID-19 sanitary protocols, delegations from five eastern provinces, plus, Camagüey and Ciego de Avila, were welcomed by Party Central Committee staff at the Palco Hotel, next to event’s venue, the Convention Center, in Havana.
The Eighth Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) will be held on April 16-19, 2021 in Havana.
This Thursday, March 4, in strict compliance with established sanitary protocols, plenary sessions of Party Provincial Committees will be held, during which the delegation from each province to the Eighth Congress will be elected.
Last February, the Political Bureau analyzed and reaffirmed the scheduling of the Congress. During these first months of 2021, a broad, democratic process of election of the pre-candidates for delegate to the Congress took place in grassroots branches, from which thousands of valuable proposals emerged.
More specifically, the joint statement reads:
Slander and threats against the Communist Party of Venezuela are unacceptable
The statement reads:
"Recently, especially in Germany, there have been more and more statements from the ranks of left forces who think they can make "clever" proposals to the people, the government and the Communist Party in Cuba for a change in Cuba's policy. The Left Party (Die Linke) calls for dialogue with the so-called opposition in Cuba.

With foundations in its ideological, political and organisational autonomy and independence, the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) is committed to confronting US-European imperialist aggression. It is also committed to confronting the economic, labour and agricultural policies which President Nicolas Maduro has been applying in favour of Capital and landowners.
In a statement, the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns "in the strongest and most absolute terms the fraudulent qualification of Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism, announced by the United States government in a cynical and hypocritical act."
The Cuban MINREX calls the U.S. announcement "an act by a government that is discredited, dishonest and morally bankrupt", adding that "the true motivation for this action is to impose additional obstacles to any prospect of recovery in the bilateral relations between Cuba and the United States.
In Brazil we have been experiencing two simultaneous crises: a deep, political crisis that is worsening at every moment, as shown in Bolsonaro’s recent speech at the United Nations Organization, in which he stated that Brazil has been taking adequate care of the environment, on the very moment that there are fires all over the Amazon and the Pantanal regions, a speech that has brought about criticism all over the world.

The Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV), as the party of the working class and the Venezuelan working people, clarifies its position regarding Venezuela's launch of a supposed Platform of the Anti-imperialist Working Class (PCOA), which lacks the presence of class conscious trade union organizations from our country or representatives of national historical labor currents.
They were accompanied by the Greek side by Aris Evangelidis, head of Latin America of the Department of International Relations of the KKE and by the Cuban side by Ileana Hernández, Head of Europe of the Department of International Relations of the PCC, Silvia Colunga official of the department and Cuba's ambassador to Greece Zelmys María Dominguez Cortina.
