On the political situation in Venezuela: Letter by the Communist Party (PCV)

In a letter addressed to the fraternal Communist and Workers' Parties of the world, the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) describes the major issues concerning the current political, economic and social situation in Venezuela.

It must be noted that in August, the Communist Party of Venezuela along with other parties and political groups formed an anti-imperialist alliance under the name "Popular Revolutionary Alternative" (Alternativa Popular Revolucionaria- APR). 

The full letter of the Political Bureau of the PCV, which was published in Solidnet, is the following:

Alternativa Popular Revolucionaria: Venezuela's new anti-imperialist and socialist alliance

The Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV), alongside seven other left and socialist-oriented political organizations, announced the formation of an anti-imperialist and socialist alliance under the name "Popular Revolutionary Alternative" (Alternative Popular Revolucionaria- APR). 

The communique for the formation of APR reads:

With a great effort of collective political construction, the below signed organisations have constituted the Popular Revolutionary Alternative (APR), an anti-imperialist and truly socialist alliance which points towards offering a new left-wing reference point for Venezuelans.

KKE condemns the new intervention attempt by mercenaries against Venezuela

In a statement the International Relations Section of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) condemns the new infiltration attempt by mercenaries against Venezuela. 

More specifically the statement, which was published in 902 portal, reads:

“The KKE condemns the new intervention attempt in Venezuela by paramilitary group of mercenaries based in Colombia whose aim, according to the statements of the paramilitry group's leader in social media, was to cause sabotages and murder members of the Venezuelan government. The group of mercenaries-murderers was countered by Venezuela’s security forces.

Venezuela: STOP the persecution of communist trade unionists!

On February 17th, the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) and the National Front of Working Class Struggle (FNLCT) issued a statement denouncing the acts of aggression, repression and police harassment against communist trade unionists in the oil industry. 

More specifically, trade unionists Dolores Herrera and Gustavo Yánez, members of the Oil workers union “Jesús Faría” (CCT-CV), were attacked in their own house by an armed group, being violently evicted and deprived of their personal belongings.

On Wednesday 13 November a group of hooded thugs entered the premises of the Bolivarian University in Caracas during the elections of the students council that was taking place.  The unknown men cowardly attacked members of the Communist Youth of Venezuela (Juventud Comunista de Venezuela), including José Daniel Ramos member of its National Directorate and a candidate for the students' council.

The Politbureau of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) in its weekly press conference held August 26 declared its position regarding the serious situation which affects the Brazilian Amazonian region. 

With respect, the Secretary for International Relations of the Central Committee of the PCV, Carolus Wimmer, said: "The PCV warns that what is going on in the Amazon isn’t fire, its capitalism. There is a wave of information which is looking to hide the truth of the problem. The consequence of the expansion of the interests of the transnational firms in our region has naturally not only caused the exploitation of the workers and misery and hunger for the popular masses, but also the destruction of the environment."

European Communist Initiative: Solidarity with the people & the CP of Venezuela

Statement of the Secretariat of the Initiative of Communist and Workers' Parties of Europe in solidarity with Venezuelan people and the CP of Venezuela.

The Secretariat of the Initiative condemns the coup d'etat of the USA, their allied governments and of the Organization of American States (OAS) for the overthrow of the elected President Nicolas Maduro and for the support of the leader of the reactionary forces Juan Guaidó, who proclaimed himself president of the country with their support.

This coup d'etat is a continuation of the planned longterm campaign of destabilization of the country to promote the imperialist designs in the Latin America region and to overthrow governments that are not likable to the USA-NATO and the EU, with the latter intervening in the domestic affairs of Venezuela, supporting the reactionary forces and participating the the scheme to overthrow the elected government.

Venezuelan communist and campesino activist Luis Fajardo assassinated in Mérida

In a press release issued yesterday by the Political Bureau and signed by the General Secretary Oscar Figuera, the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) announced the assassination of the Party's Central Committee member Luis Fajardo. 

According to the statement, Fajardo was with his brother-in-law, Javier Aldana, making their way home on a motorbike, when they were killed by a burst of gunfire from a moving car. 

The incident took place in Las Palmas, at the Nueva Bolivia municipality of the state of Mérida. 

The PCV added that the Party held landowners, as well as corrupt members of the National Guardsmen and politicians, responsible for the crime, while demanding from the government to carry out a thorough investigation on Fajardo's assassination.

Venezuela's Communist Party denounces provocation against deputy Yhon Luna

In a statement issued on August 16th, the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) denounces a provocative effort against its member Yhon Luna, who is allegedly linked to "terrorist, fascist, corrupt and anti-national activities". 

The PCV "strongly and forcefully reject any attempt to link the Communist Party of Venezuela or any of its leaders and militants with terrorist, fascist, corrupt and golpist actions, as it happens in the case of the campaign that has been publicly developed against our comrade Yhon Luna, member of the PCV Central Committee and the Regional Commitee of the Tachira State, (also) deputy of the legislative council."

KKE condemns the assassination attempt on President Maduro, denounces imperialist interference in Venezuela's internal affairs

In a statement regarding the assassination attempt against the President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro, the Press Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece mentions the following:

"The KKE condemns the assassination attempt on the President of Venezuela Maduro and denounces any foreign intervention in Venezuela's internal affairs.

Communist Party of Venezuela: “Workers' struggle for a revolutionary answer to the crisis”

The Politburo of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) congratulated the successful convening of the 9th National Assembly of the Workers and Class Struggle Unionist Movement, organized by the National Front of Working Class Struggle (FNLCT) this past July 7th.

The Assembly adopted a program to bring about a revolutionary solution to the crisis currently facing the Venezuelan people, and approved a plan of struggle that promotes the largest and broadest mobilization of workers in alliance with the people’s and campesino movements.

Venezuela: The Communist Party (PCV) will back the candidacy of Nicolas Maduro

According to Prensa Latina, the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) announced that it will back the candidacy of President Nicolas Maduro, in an effort to work for the development of the country and the people. 

A week ago, the resolution of the PCV's 14th National Conference had proposed a "PSUV-PCV Unified Pact" based on a "broad coalition of political and social forces". 

According to an agreement released yesterday by the national press, the pact includes 17 actions in order to protect social struggles, safeguard the rights of the working class and the projection of more social, economic and political initiatives.

Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) offers conditional support to Nicolas Maduro

While the aggressiveness of the United States, the EU and other Latin American countries against Venezuela's social democratic PSUV government continues, political preparations for the April 22nd presidential elections have already started. 

The 14th National Conference of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV), which was held last weekend in Caracas, evaluated the current political, social and economic situation and discussed the Party's stance in the upcoming elections. The PCV's Conference Resolution talks about "a broad coalition of political and social forces” as part of a "PSUV-PCV Unified Pact" in order to tackle "Venezuela's dependent and rentier capitalism with anti-imperialist, patriotic and popular political and socio-economic actions".

Venezuela: Libertad para el joven comunista Alí Jiménez - Solidarity with Venezuelan communists!

Through a statement, the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) has strongly denounced the arrest and detention by police authorities at San Juan de los Morros, of Alí Jiménez, member of the National Directorate of the Communist Youth of Venezuela (Juventud Comunista de Venezuela). 

PCV demands from the government of Nicolas Maduro the immediate release of the young communist, as long as Jiménez's guilt has not been proved and points out that behind the detention of JCV's cadre are reasons related to political retaliation. 

Jiménez was arrested on December 21st in the city of San Juan de los Morros, at the state of Guarico, when he was trying to intercede for local residents who were protesting. 

The KKE responds to the slanderous lies of Carmelo Suárez's group (Comentario en español)

The International Relations department of the CC of the KKE issued a statement (commentary) replying to the recent slanderous delirium of the opportunist "Carmelo Suárez faction". Surpassing all limits, the Suárez faction shamelessly involves a third party (Communist Party of Venezuela) in order to vilify the KKE and the Communist Party of Mexico. 

In a recent article under the title "The declaration of Caracas as a necessity of the historical moment in Venezuela", the group of C. Suárez unleashes a provocative slanderous attack against the Communist Parties of Greece (KKE) and Mexico (PCM) for not being among the signatories of a random declaration of solidarity towards Venezuela.

In the 15th Congress of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) which took place between 22 and 25th of June in Caracas, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) was represented by its Political Bureau member Giorgos Marinos and Dimitris Karagiannis, member of the international relations section of the CC and journalist in 'Rizospastis'. 

On June 21st, the PCV organised the 2nd International Ideological Seminar with the subject being "The timeliness of Lenin in the 100 years of the Great Socialist Revolution", in which 18 Communist and Workers Parties participated.

The KKE expresses the warmest comradely greetings of the Greek communists to the 15th National Congress of the PCV .

Our parties all these years have developed very close, bilateral comradely relations of cooperation. We have met together in the efforts to overcome the difficulties, for the theoretical and ideological regroupment of the international communist movement, the reinforcement of Marxist-Leninist orientation in its ranks, for the creation and publication of the International Communist Review. We have waged battles together to defend the communist identity of the IMCWP and to preserve its communist characteristics. We have devoted significant forces to developing the anti-imperialist struggle and solidarity, to strengthening the international anti-imperialist organizations.

Open letter by the Communist Party of Venezuela: Defeat the Coup Against the Bolivarian Republic

An open letter to the people, from the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV).

To our compatriot Nicolas Maduro, President of the Republic; to the working class and working people of the city and countryside; to the patriotic officers, classes, and soldiers of the National Bolivarian Armed Forces; to the national leadership and militancy of the political parties and popular organisations of the Great Patriotic Pole, including the United Socialist Party.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela finds itself threatened yet again by acts of political violence from sectors of the extreme right as part of the execution of a destabilising plan elaborated by North American imperialism.
