Britain's Communist Party centenary weekend: 100 years for socialism

The weekend of July 31 and August 1, 2020 marks 100 years since the historic gathering of delegates at the Canon Street Hotel in London to form a united Communist Party.

On this occasion, the Communist Party of Britain organises a series of events which have been adjusted to meet the situation of social distancing due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the Communist Party, the programme of public meetings entitled “Pandemonium” is designed to “provoke and inspire the imagination” and the 13 Red Wedge live-and-direct meetings, which will be held on August 1, are a great opportunity to measure the Party's achievement so far. You can read more and join the "Pandemonium" here: http://www.communistparty.org.uk/pandemonium.

HANDS OFF KARL MARX GRAVE IN LONDON!

Karl Marx, the greatest thinker of all times whose revolutionary teachings became a guide for the struggles of the working class throughout the world, continues giving nightmares to fascists, reactionaries and anti-communists.

His grave memorial at Highgate cemetery in North London has been a target of cowardly attacks and vandalism by far-right thugs. In 2019, in a space of a month, the grave was vandalized twice by fascists who caused extensive damages in the marble plaque.

British Communist Youth blasts Boris Johnson's government for "criminal response" to COVID-19

The Young Communist League of Britain has issued the following statement on the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis unfolding and the criminal failure of Boris Johnson’s Tory government to protect working people in Britain.

Communist Party of Britain included alongside neo-Nazis in UK counter-terror list!

In an outrageous act that promotes the despicable and historically groundless equation of communism with nazism/fascism, the U.K. Home Office has lumbed together the Communist Party of Britain (CPB) with neo-Nazi and white supremacist groups in literature and posters supposedly designed to educate officers about extremism.

More specifically, Morning Star Online reports:

British Communist Parties reflect on the result of the 2019 General Elections

In the 12th December 2019 general elections in Britain,  with Brexit being the dominant political issue, the Conservative Party (Tories), under the leadership of Boris Johnson, won a landslide victory securing 365 seats out of 650, acquiring an overall majority of 80 in the House of Commons.

On the other hand, Jeremy Corbyn's Labour Party gained 32.1% of the votes, gaining 202 seats.
In this site we have firmly expressed our negative political stance towards the social democratic Labour Party and Jeremy Corbyn. Over the years the Labour Party has proved its role as a party of the bourgeoisie, devoted to the support of the British capitalist system and fully aligned with imperalist policies. Capitalism in Britain: Homelessness increased by 165% since 2010

The images are disturbing and show the tragic reality of the rotten capitalist system.

The statistics about homelessness in the United Kingdom reveal capitalism's barbarity.

According to a report by The Independent, thousands of people sleep rough every night in the cold streets of London and other large cities. Both the two bourgeois parties which have governed the country all these decades, the Conservatives and the Labour Party, bear huge responsibility for this situation.

Capitalism's queues: London workers are queuing up for free food, can't afford to eat

The various apologists of free market economy and slanderers of the socialist system must get used to a new term: Capitalist queues

According to an interesting report by The Independent, during rush hour on one of London’s most affluent streets, amid the bustle of the Strand, an orderly queue is forming. Dozens of people stand patiently, and hungrily, waiting for their dinner.

The gathering, near Charing Cross station, comprises people of all ages and ethnicities.

Some look visibly homeless, clutching large carrier bags containing their worldly possessions. Others wear work clothes. Despite having a job, they can’t afford to eat.

Carrying placards with slogans "NATO Killers Go Home" and KKE flags, the protesters called the working people of Cyprus to "assert their opposition to the facilitations given to the British butchers who are bombing the Syrian people. 63 years ago: EOKA's nationalists begin the armed struggle in Cyprus

Members of EOKA in Troodos mountain. Third
from the right is Georgios Grivas (sitting).
It was the 1st of April 1955, 63 years ago, when the National Organisation of Cypriot Fighters, known by the acronym EOKA, began its armed guerrilla struggle aiming at the union of Cyprus with Greece.

EOKA was a nationalist, deeply anticommunist organisation. The plans for its creation had already began in 1950, with the active support of the Greek bourgeois class and the consent of Archbishop Makarios. The organisation's leader was the notorious nationalist, known for his anticommunist sentiments, Georgios Grivas.

It is characteristic that during the Nazi occupation of Greece in 1940s, Grivas had founded and led the "X" far-right guerrilla organisation, which was mainly made up by officers of the bourgeois Greek army. During the December 1944 events in Athens, members of the "X organisation fought alongside Greek bourgeois forces and British imperialists against the EAM-ELAS popular movement.

Marx died in his London study at half-past two on the afternoon of Wednesday 14th March 1883.

He was buried three days later at Highgate Cemetery and the Marx Memorial Library has for many decades held an annual graveside oration at his burial place in the cemetery in North London.
