Two Republican senators have introduced legislation seeking to establish a permanent memorial in Washington, D.C., dedicated to the alleged "victims of Communist China's tyranny," in yet another anti-communist initiative spearheaded by the U.S. political establishment.
The bill, introduced by Senators Rick Scott and Marsha Blackburn, proposes the construction of the memorial in International Park, directly opposite the Chinese Embassy. It would receive up to $500,000 in federal funding, with additional financing coming from private donations, FOX News reported.

According to the proposal, the memorial would feature exhibits focusing on allegations against the Communist Party of China, including the period of Mao Zedong's leadership, the 1989 Tiananmen Square events, Hong Kong, Xinjiang, and other issues frequently invoked by Washington in its campaign against Beijing. It would also commemorate a number of Chinese dissidents and activists.
The legislation still has to pass the Senate committee process before it can become law.
The proposal comes just days after the U.S. State Department issued another fiercely anti-Cuba report, underscoring Washington's renewed anti-communist offensive. While presented under the banner of "human rights," such initiatives once again reveal the enduring role of anti-communism as a central ideological weapon of U.S. imperialism.
The latest bill is part of the broader U.S. campaign against China amid the intensifying inter-imperialist rivalry for global dominance, in which anti-communism continues to serve as a convenient political instrument for advancing Washington's strategic objectives.
