The 24th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties to be held in Havana on 7-9 August

The meeting of the Working Group (WG) of the International Meetings of Communist and Workers’ Parties (IMCWP) was successfully concluded on Sunday, April 19, in Istanbul. The session focused on determining the venue, theme, and organizational matters for the 24th International Meeting.

The Working Group decided that the 24th IMCWP will take place in Havana from August 7 to 9, 2026, under the theme: “We defend and honor the legacy of the Cuban Revolution on the centenary of Fidel Castro; we deepen our solidarity with socialist Cuba; we strengthen our joint actions and unite our forces for peace and against imperialist aggression.”

The Communist Party of Cuba, which will host the 24th IMCWP, also invited Communist and Workers’ Parties to participate in the events marking the 100th anniversary of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, to be held from August 10 to 12.

The Working Group of the IMCWP adopted a Joint Statement expressing solidarity with Cuba.

In addition, during the meeting, a Resolution was adopted expressing solidarity with the peoples of Iran, Lebanon, and Palestine against U.S. and Israeli aggression.

The following parties participated in the WG meeting: the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Communist Party of Brazil, the Communist Party of Britain, the French Communist Party, the German Communist Party, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), the Communist Party of India (Marxist), the Tudeh Party of Iran, the Communist Party of the Workers of Spain, the Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain, the Communist Party of Israel, the Communist Party of Cuba, AKEL, the Lebanese Communist Party, the Communist Party of Mexico, the Hungarian Workers’ Party, the Communist Party of Ukraine, the Union of Communists of Ukraine, the Portuguese Communist Party, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Russian Communist Workers’ Party, the Communist Party of Turkey, and the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (Czech Republic).
