Communist Parties from across the world condemn U.S aggression and threats against Cuba

Communist and Worker's Parties from all over the world strongly condemn and denounce the shameful threats of the Trump administration towards Cuba as well as the tightening of the U.S. inhumane and genocidal blockade against the Island of the Revolution. Cuba Is Not Alone! Cuba No Está Sola!

Read below statements by various Communist and Workers' Parties:

Central Committee of the Communist Workers Platform USA

With Cuba, We Condemn the Criminal Aggression of the US

Today, the intensifying competition between rival imperialist powers is reflected on the international level with the decline of the economic power of the United States. Its decline is accompanied with relentless and criminal policies which seek to reclaim its dominance as outlined in the new US National Security Strategy, which consists of total control over the Western Hemisphere. Resultingly, the Trump administration has led the concentration of military forces and aggression against the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean. All these dangerous developments are taking place within the context of a growing generalization of imperialist war.

On January 29, in a substantial escalation of the decades-long suffocation of Cuba and its people, President Trump has signed off on an executive order that will be used to place tariffs on any country which maintains oil trade with Cuba. This measure confirms this administration's attempt to impose a complete oil blockade, to further strangle and force the capitulation of Cuba.

The Communist Workers’ Platform condemns this as yet another example of the lawlessness and barbarism of US imperialism, which for more than six decades has enforced a murderous blockade against Cuba and its people. We reject as laughable the Trump administration’s flimsy pretexts of “terrorism” and “aggression,” as its ICE agents carry out extrajudicial killings, kidnap and terrorize children, families, and persecute migrant workers. The audacity of the White House to feign “concern” for "political persecution and freedom of speech" in Cuba is a provocation given that over the past two administrations violent state repression has been unleashed against mass mobilizations opposing the blood-stained hands of US imperialism and its reactionary policies, both domestically and abroad.

In the face of this new crime, we express our deepest internationalist solidarity with the Cuban people and the Communist Party of Cuba. The attempt to strangle the Cuban Revolution is of the highest importance for the workers and people of the US to combat. It concerns not only the necessity of proletarian internationalism, but the defense of the achievements of the Cuban Revolution, the struggle against ideological and historical distortions, and the exposure of capitalism, in its imperialist phase, as the main enemy of the peoples of the world.

With Fidel, Che, and the countless Cuban revolutionaries, we heed their warnings in the attempt of the United States to snuff out the revolution and its admirable achievements on the island.

There is no middle ground and the task of all revolutionaries is that which is taken up by the Communist Workers' Platform:

We defend the Cuban Revolution!

Algerian Party for Democracy and Socialism (PADS)

Solidarity with Cuba in the Face of the U.S. Imperialist Blockade

The Algerian Party for Democracy and Socialism (PADS) strongly condemns the new reckless escalation of U.S. imperialism against Cuba. The presidential decree issued on January 29, 2026, which threatens to impose sanctions on any country supplying oil to the island, is part of a policy of “total asphyxiation,” described as an “economic war”.  It constitutes an act of blackmail aimed at worsening the energy crisis from which the Cuban people have been suffering for years. This measure extends decades of an unjust blockade and seeks to exploit the vulnerability caused by the decline in supplies from Venezuela, thereby placing the Cuban people in the face of a serious social and humanitarian crisis.

The claim that Cuba represents a “threat” is nothing more than a blatant attempt to conceal the real responsibilities. Imperialism is the true violator of peoples’ sovereignty, using economic pressure, sanctions, and threats against all those who refuse to submit to its dictates. The deprivation, power outages, and shortages affecting the population are the direct result of this aggressive and inhumane policy.

The Algerian Party for Democracy and Socialism reaffirms its principled and unwavering solidarity with the Cuban people and with the Communist Party of Cuba. It also calls upon all popular forces, trade unions, progressive movements, and militant youth around the world to unite their efforts to condemn U.S. aggression, demand the immediate lifting of the blockade, and strengthen concrete international solidarity with Cuba.

No to the blockade, no to imperialist blackmail!

Progressive Party of Working People (AKEL)

The new escalation of US aggression against Cuba is a new act of audacity by the Trump regime

The new escalation of US aggression against Cuba represents a new episode in the Trump regime’s audacity. AKEL denounces the new illegal measures taken by the US against Cuba and expresses its unconditional solidarity with the people and leadership of Cuba.

Trump’s decree imposing tariffs on countries that supply oil to Cuba aims to provoke energy suffocation to the Cuban people and adds to the economic, trade, and financial blockade that the US has imposed on Cuba for 65 years. It should be pointed out that last October, the UN General Assembly, for the 33rd consecutive year and by an overwhelming majority of the world’s states, called on the US to end the blockade of Cuba.

The intensification of the interventions in Latin America, the attacks against Greenland, the economic wars against European economies, the support for the ongoing genocide in Gaza, the preparations for an invasion of Iran, and the undermining of the UN demonstrate that the US is ruthlessly turning against everyone in order to defend its hegemony in the Western hemisphere and across the entire planet.

Now more than ever, we need to defend international law, the UN Charter, and peace, which are not mere wishful thinking but are prerequisites for humanity’s survival in the face of the nightmarish dangers it currently faces.

Political Statement by the Brazilian Communist Party (PCB)

The Brazilian Communist Party (PCB) repudiates and denounces the new escalation of aggressions by U.S. imperialism against the Republic of Cuba. This is manifested in the threats from Donald Trump's fascist government, the criminal tightening of the economic, financial, and commercial blockade, explicit military threats, and the intimidation of the naval siege aimed at preventing the supply of oil, food, medicine, and other goods essential for the survival of the Cuban people.

This is a deliberate policy of economic and social asphyxiation, whose central objective is to provoke the internal collapse of the Socialist Island, to inflict extreme suffering on the population and, through the force of hunger, scarcity, and international blackmail, attempt to destroy the social achievements guaranteed by socialism and the Cuban Revolution itself, aiming to restore the dominion of monopoly capital over the country. This offensive constitutes a continuous crime against a sovereign people and a flagrant violation of international law, UN resolutions, and the most elementary principles of the self-determination of peoples.

The threats against Cuba are part of a broader context of the systemic crisis of imperialism, which, faced with its economic, political, and geopolitical decline, intensifies practices of hybrid warfare, blockades, sanctions, coups, and military threats against the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean. U.S. imperialism seeks, at any cost, to reassert its hegemony over the region, turning our countries into zones of plunder, political submission, and strategic control of their natural resources.

At this extremely grave moment, in which U.S. imperialism acts in desperation, breaking any legal or humanitarian limit, it becomes imperative that all democratic, progressive, popular, and leftist forces, as well as governments that claim to be sovereign and committed to peace, act firmly to block, isolate, and dissuade the criminal measures announced by the United States government. More than formal statements, concrete political, diplomatic, and material contributions in defense of the Cuban people are necessary, as they face with dignity one of the longest and most brutal imperialist aggressions in contemporary history.

The PCB reaffirms that solidarity with Cuba is not an abstract or merely moral gesture: it is an internationalist political task. For decades, Cuba has been a concrete example of solidarity among peoples, offering doctors, educators, and humanitarian and political support to numerous nations, even under extreme conditions of blockade and siege. To defend Cuba is to defend the right of peoples to sovereignty, self-determination, and the construction of a socialist project free from imperialist domination.

Faced with this grave situation, the Brazilian Communist Party makes a national and international call to popular, union, and student organizations, to communist and socialist parties, to progressive movements, and to anti-imperialist forces to intensify political mobilization, organize demonstrations, denunciation campaigns, and concrete actions of material solidarity with the Cuban people. Cuba's resistance is an inseparable part of the struggle of workers and peoples of the world against U.S. imperialism and the capitalist system.

Full support to the Cuban Revolution!

Unrestricted solidarity with the Cuban people!

Organize internationalist resistance in defense of Cuba!

Homeland or death, we shall prevail!

Down with imperialism!

The following is the joint statement issued by the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Communist Party of India, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation; All India Forward Bloc and Revolutionary Socialist Party

Against US Threats to Cuba

We strongly condemn the threats issued by the United States of America against socialist Cuba and denounce its decision to block the shipment of oil. This is against the international law and a violation of the UN Charter.

After its attack on Venezuela and the kidnapping of President Nicolas Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores, the United States is now proceeding against Cuba. It is threatening countries that supply oil to Cuba with sanctions.

The US believes that by strangling Cuba economically, it can destabilise the country.

The US has been trying to destabilise Cuba for the last 67 years, using various means, including open terrorist attacks, an economic blockade, and even attempts to assassinate Fidel Castro. All of these have failed. The National Security Strategy 2025 announced by the US President Donald Trump is another attempt by the US to target and destabilise socialist Cuba. The people of Cuba have heroically resisted all earlier attempts, and we are confident that they will resist the current aggression as well.

Cuba is a heroic nation that has consistently stood for international solidarity and assisted countries by sending doctors and medical personnel in times of need. It has readily shared its medical expertise and vaccines with many countries in the Global South. Attacking such a noble country should be considered an attack on humanity itself.

The Indian government should condemn these US threats and reiterate its solidarity with Cuba. The entire international community must stand with Cuba and oppose US aggression.

We urge the people of our country to rally in defence of Cuba's sovereign rights.

Communist Party USA (CPUSA)

No to US Economic Terrorism Against Cuba

The Communist Party USA condemns in the strongest possible terms the Trump regime’s executive order of January 29, 2026—a cruel and illegal escalation of the 65-year economic war against Cuba. By declaring a fraudulent "national emergency" to impose a total blockade on fuel supplies, U.S. imperialism has reached a new level of barbarism. The ruling regime is continuing its collective punishment and asphyxiation of an entire people. We stand in unwavering solidarity with the Cuban people, the Communist Party of Cuba, and their revolutionary government.

The order justifies this act of economic terrorism with a familiar list of lies and slanders. It cynically labels Cuba, a nation dedicated to peace and international solidarity, as a "malign influence" and a national security threat. This is the height of imperialist hypocrisy. The true threat to regional stability is the government of the United States, which has sought to dominate the world, as well as strip nations of their resources and their sovereignty. The accusation that Cuba "supports terrorism" is a particularly vile slander, used solely to justify the inhuman blockade that itself constitutes an act of economic terrorism. The U.S. government, with its long history of launching wars and supporting dictators, has zero moral authority to lecture Cuba on human rights or democracy.

This fuel blockade is a weapon used by imperialism to inflict maximum suffering on the Cuban population. They wish to manufacture "extreme living conditions" in a desperate and failing attempt to break their revolutionary spirit. The Trump regime’s claim to support the "Cuban people's aspirations for freedom" while systematically starving them of energy, medicine, and food is the definition of hypocrisy and cruelty.

Despite six decades of this unrelenting blockade and punishment for exercising national sovereignty, the Cuban people have built a society of profound dignity, guaranteeing healthcare and education as human rights. Their resilience is an inspiration to the international working class. The Communist Party USA denounces the U.S. imperialist policy of blackmailing other countries to join this illegal blockade and we see it as part of the broader, dangerous fascistic threat in the U.S.

We demand the immediate and unconditional rescinding of this executive order, the full lifting of the economic blockade, and Cuba's removal from the fabricated "State Sponsors of Terrorism" list. We pledge to continue mobilizing the working class and peace-loving people of the United States to fight this criminal, fascistic policy and regime.

End the Blockade Now!

Let Cuba Live!

¡Hasta la Victoria Siempre!

South African Communist Party (SACP)

SACP condemns US total fuel blockade of Cuba

Saturday, 31 January 2026:- The South African Communist Party (SACP) condemns the latest US government’s total blockade of fuel supplies to Cuba, an act of aggression against the Cuban people.

In escalating its series of criminal acts against Cuba, the Trump administration has declared its intention to punish any nation that engages in any exchange with Cuba in energy resources and fuel in particular. These actions represent the lowest the US government has reached in its nearly century-long campaign of terror against the Cuban people for choosing an alternative economic system to capitalism.

As the SACP, we recognise that these actions by the US government are intended to annihilate the Cuban state and provide Donald Trump with a semblance of credibility and legitimacy amidst a disastrous foreign policy that has come to typify his administration. The desperate return to the naked implementation of the Monroe Doctrine concerning the entire region of South America occurs in the context of a chaotic political situation for his administration and is a result of an empire in sharp decline.

The cruelty and barbarism inherent in this policy action are impossible to ignore and signify the violence and immorality of the US imperialist regime in office and indeed the immorality of the US state as a whole. The unashamed suppression of the entire region of South America and the looting of its resources is not only backward and corrupt but also a gross violation of human rights and international law.

The US’s attempt to justify these heinous crimes through the so-called defence of “US national security” is not only ludicrous but is impossible to comprehend for any rational person who understands the scale of the US military in comparison to that of Cuba. The truth is that the US empire has become increasingly crude and seeks even more violent means to further its imperialist geopolitical interests at the expense of even the smallest nations, in this instance the peace-loving people of Cuba.

As the SACP, we denounce in the strongest terms the continued aggression of the US towards Cuba and call for an immediate cessation of these activities, just as we have called for the end of all economic blockade against Cuba by the US. We stand with the Cuban people and the Cuban revolution at this critical moment in time.

Communist Party of Canada

Condemn U.S. economic terror against Cuba: Canada must act!

The Communist Party of Canada condemns the Trump administration’s January 29th executive order, a dangerous and illegal escalation seeking to strangle Cuba by imposing a total blockade on its fuel supplies. This latest act of economic warfare in a 65 year history of U.S. aggression is driven by a singular goal: to destroy the socialist revolution that, 90 miles from its shores, proves workers can be in the driver’s seat and that another world is possible. This policy constitutes a blatant violation of the sovereign right of nations to self-determination and development and will create an acute humanitarian disaster. By threatening punitive tariffs against any country that trades oil with Cuba, U.S. imperialism openly embraces blackmail, aiming to inflict extreme suffering on the Cuban people to force political surrender.

Prime Minister Carney recently declared at Davos that it is time to stop accommodating coercion. If this principle has any meaning, it must apply here. Canada’s continued silence in the face of this brutal U.S. aggression against Cuba exposes such rhetoric as hollow. A truly “principled and pragmatic” foreign policy demands that Canada immediately and unequivocally condemn this act of economic terror, use all diplomatic means to oppose the U.S. blockade, and strengthen trade and cooperation with Cuba to help it withstand this assault.

This moment demands a coordinated response from the labour and people’s movements across Canada. The revolution that has for decades shown the world the deepest internationalist solidarity, sending doctors and teachers while enduring a criminal blockade, urgently needs our solidarity more than ever. The defence of the Cuban Revolution is a global class imperative and our solidarity must match the scale of this threat. We must redouble our efforts to get the Canadian government to stand and defend Cuba’s sovereignty, and affirm that people across Canada stand with Cuba against imperialist aggression.

Communist Party (Switzerland)

Solidarity with Cuba in the Face of the New Aggression by the United States

The Communist Party (Switzerland) expresses its strongest condemnation of the recent executive order of the United States government that seeks to prevent third countries from trading oil with Cuba under the threat of sanctions and tariffs. This measure constitutes a new and serious step in the intensification of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed against the Cuban people, with the clear objective of suffocating its economy and provoking social collapse.

This is not an isolated action, but rather a deliberate escalation of unilateral coercive policies that violate international law and aim to isolate Cuba from the global economic system. These practices, in addition to being illegitimate, directly punish the civilian population by affecting access to basic resources, energy, food, and medicines.

From Switzerland, we raise our voices to demand the immediate cessation of all pressure measures and sanctions that undermine Cuba’s sovereignty and independence. No country has the right to impose its will on another through economic blackmail or political coercion. Respect for the self-determination of nations is a fundamental principle that must prevail in international relations.

We reaffirm our firm and unconditional solidarity with the Cuban people and their Communist Party, which has demonstrated throughout its history enormous dignity and a remarkable capacity for resistance in the face of decades of external aggression. Cuba has the legitimate right to live in peace, to develop according to its own decisions, and to build its future free from foreign interference.

We also call upon the international community, political, social, and popular forces to speak out against these actions and to actively defend the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of states. Silence in the face of such measures legitimizes them; international solidarity is today more necessary than ever.

In particular, the Swiss government — also in light of the motion approved by the National Counci of Switzerland (national parliament) against the illegal blockade — must clearly intervene against the imperialist arrogance of the United States: U.S. actions are imposed extraterritorially and indirectly harm our country and our fellow citizens as well.

The blockade must end. National sovereignty is not negotiable.

New Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ)

The New Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ) resolutely and unequivocally condemns the criminal, imperialist, and increasingly aggressive policy of the United States of America against socialist Cuba.

The policy of U.S. imperialism toward Cuba is an integral part of a broader strategy aimed at establishing total political, economic, and military domination over Latin America. Under the guise of “democracy” and “human rights,” U.S. imperialism is brutally reviving the Monroe Doctrine, treating the peoples of the continent as objects of exploitation, submission, and neocolonial control.

For decades, Cuba has been subjected to a relentless campaign of economic strangulation, political subversion, disinformation, and open threats. Today, this campaign has reached a new level of aggression, employing methods identical to those formulated by Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels on the eve of the Second World War: to inflame hatred, to attack without interruption, and to deny any respite until the target breaks. These methods expose the true, fascist nature of imperialist domination.

The New Communist Party of Yugoslavia firmly rejects this policy of aggression and blackmail. We call upon all anti-imperialist, progressive, and revolutionary forces of the world to immediately  actively organize the widest possible political, economic, and moral support for the Cuban people.

The NKPJ expresses its unwavering solidarity with the heroic people of Cuba, its full support for the Communist Party of Cuba, and its firm backing of the leadership of the President of the Republic of Cuba in their struggle to defend socialism, national sovereignty, and revolutionary achievements.

Cuba is not alone. Imperialism will not prevail.
