On Friday, April 5, special forces of the Ecuadorian Police, on the instructions of President Daniel Noboa, broke into the Mexican Embassy in Quito, violating diplomatic norms and international treaties, to arrest Jorge Glas, who was Vice President of Ecuador. in addition to other ministerial responsibilities during the Correa and Moreno governments.
This is an unacceptable violation of diplomatic relations, and therefore we condemn this decision by President Noboa of Ecuador.
Our rejection of the outrage by the Ecuadorian government does not constitute any adherence to the foreign policy of the López Obrador Government, characterized by alignment with the imperialist bloc led by the United States, which includes its commitment to a harsh anti-immigrant policy. The defense of the right of asylum and respect for the inviolability of diplomatic premises is based on principles and does not imply political support for Glas or his political project, which is co-responsible for the situation that the people of Ecuador are experiencing today.
We consider it negative that, taking advantage of this regrettable fact, the Obrador Government promotes chauvinism, vulgar jingoism, the poison of “national unity” to hide the class struggle, and the enrichment of the bourgeoisie at the expense of the suffering of the Mexican proletariat. We reiterate our solidarity with the workers and people of Ecuador, who are our brothers.
The Communist Party of Mexico reiterates that only with workers' power will sovereignty be assured and that our homeland is the homeland of the workers.

Sobre el ataque del Gobierno de Ecuador a la Embajada de México
El viernes 5 de Abril fuerzas especiales de la Policía de Ecuador, por instrucción del Presidente Daniel Noboa irrumpieron en la Embajada de México en Quito, violando las normas diplomáticas, y los tratados internacionales, para detener a Jorge Glas, quien fuera Vicepresidente de Ecuador, además de otras responsabilidades ministeriales durante los gobiernos de Correa y Moreno.
Se trata de una violación inaceptable de las relaciones diplomáticas, y por tanto condenamos esta decisión del Presidente Noboa de Ecuador.
Nuestro rechazo al atropello del gobierno Ecuatoriano, no constituye ninguna adhesión a la política exterior del Gobierno de López Obrador, caracterizada por el alineamiento con el bloque imperialista que lidera EEUU, lo que incluye su compromiso con una dura política antiinmigrante. La defensa del derecho de asilo y el respeto a la inviolabilidad de los recintos diplomáticos es por principios y no supone un apoyo político a Glas o a su proyecto político que son corresponsables de la situación que hoy vive el pueblo de Ecuador.
Consideramos negativo que aprovechando este lamentable hecho el Gobierno de Obrador promueva el chauvinismo, el patrioterismo vulgar, el veneno de la “unidad nacional” para ocultar la lucha de clases, y el enriquecimiento de la burguesía a expensas del sufrimiento del proletariado mexicano. Reiteramos nuestra solidaridad a los trabajadores y al pueblo de Ecuador, que son nuestros hermanos.
El Partido Comunista de México reitera que solo con el poder obrero la soberanía estará asegurada y que nuestra patria es la patria de los trabajadores.
