Venezuela's Communist Party denounces "shameful attacks" by PSUV leader Cabello

Caracas, 23-08-2022- This Monday, during its press conference, the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) qualified as shameful the attacks maintained by the Vice President of the PSUV, Diosdado Cabello, against the Communist Party of Venezuela through the Venezuelan State media.

"You lash out against the Communist Party of Venezuela and against our General Secretary using your position of power and from your economic well-being, taking advantage of the State media, without allowing us a right to reply to your excessive and euphoric attack",said Carlos Lazo, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the PCV.

Lazo explained that Cabello's attacks against the communist militancy is due to the successful mobilizations that resulted in the full payment of the vacation and recreational bonus for education workers.

"You are attacking because of that, because we are the only party that is developing a victorious struggle in the streets with the popular masses", added the communist leader.

Lazo affirmed that the aggressions of Deputy Cabello "are reminiscences of his anti-communist formation" and condemned "this type of artful attacks" with which he tries to "stimulate hatred against the PCV".

The leader recalled that the PCV has an impeccable trajectory of struggle against the enemies of the Venezuelan people: "We have historically had an anti-imperialist position; we have not been anti-imperialist since 2004, which was when you declared yourselves in this way".

"That is one of the differences we have with you; besides the fact that you are a party that expresses the interests of the Venezuelan bourgeoisie to the detriment of the situation of the Venezuelan working class", he added.

Lazo announced that the PCV supports the call of the teachers and university workers unions to march this Tuesday, August 23, from the  downtown Caracas to the headquarters of the National Budget Office (Onapre) to demand once again the repeal of the instructions imposed by the government of Nicolás Maduro to reduce labor rights and salaries.

The PCV also supported the protest actions that took place last Thursday, August 18, in front of the headquarters of the National Institute of Labor Prevention, Health and Safety (Inpsasel), within the framework of the National Day of Mobilization and Fight for Health and Safety at Work, in commemoration of the death of nine workers of the Provegran company in a labor accident that took place in 2003.

Lazo explained that this date is propitious to denounce the lack of controls on safety protocols in workplaces. He also urged the sectors that have mobilized in recent months to maintain the struggle "against price increases and the mechanisms to destroy the wages and privilege the bourgeoisie that exploits the Venezuelan working class in a bestial manner".
