KKE: Tsipras represents the oligarchy of wealth

On the occasion of Alexis Tsipras' speech on Monday afternoon, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) made the following comment:

"The dilemma of the elections is indeed between Greece and Europe or the many and those of the few. Mr Tsipras has long ago choosed his camp; he is with Greece and Europe of the few, of business groups and for that reason he belongs to the bloc of conservatism, alongside ND and PASOK-KINAL.

Sri Lanka terrorist attack: Solidarity message by the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU)

The World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU), on behalf of its 97 million members in 130 countries of the 5 continents, expresses its sincere condolences to the families of the victims in Sri Lanka. 
We join our sadness and sorrow with the working class and people of Sri Lanka who faced this terrorist attack resulting in the unjust death of hundreds of innocent people.
The international class-oriented trade union movement condemns this terrorist act, which consequences will be against the people and the workers, regardless of the physical and moral perpetrators.

Israel's Communist Party (Maki) reflects on the results of April 9th elections

The results of the election for the 21st Knesset, held on April 9, with a clear victory for the bloc of the right, mark a watershed in the increased threat of a fascist option for the State of Israel
At the same time, the founding of the Blue and White political alliance and its electoral success (35 seats in the Knesset, equal to that of the Likud) are proof that the ruling class in Israel is divided. A number of heads of the defense establishment, both past and present, together with sectors among the wealthy, believe that Benjamin Netanyahu, has gone too far in his racist ways.

Sudan Uprising: The Communist Party calls for internationalist solidarity against conspiracies

The following is a statement issued by the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Sudanese Communist Party
- World imperialism, in collaboration with regional reactionary Arab governments and Sudanese army generals, staged a classical palace coup in a vain attempt to abort the victorious people’s march towards uprooting the dictatorial regime.
- The coup leaders who ousted Albashir declared a state of emergency for three months and ordered the masses of protesters to stay at home with the introduction of a curfew from sunset until morning. Millions of protesters have continued their daily mass actions, defying the curfew imposed by the new military junta.

KKE denounces the U.S. imperialist aggression against Cuba and Latin American people

In a statement issued on Thursday 18 April, the Press Bureau of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) condemns the intensificiation of the U.S. imperialist aggression and threats against Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua and the people of Latin America.
More specifically the KKE points out:
The KKE denounces the threats, which the US Security Advisor, John Bolton, unleashed against the peoples of Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua, characterizing these countries as a "troika of tyranny" and "threats to the security of the region".

Anticommunism Fails: 70% of Russians have a positive opinion on Joseph Stalin

Despite the decades of anti-communist, anti-stalinist propaganda by the bourgeois apparatus, the majority of the Russians have a positive view over Joseph Stalin's role in history. 

More specifically, according to a recent poll conducted by Levada Center, over 50 percent (the highest ever) of Russians positively view Soviet leader Joseph Stalin and his role in the country’s history.

French communists (PRCF) demand thorough investigation on Notre Dame fire disaster

In a message published on Initiative Comuniste, the Party's journal, the national spokesman of the Pole of Communist Revival in France (Pôle de Renaissance Communiste en France PRCF), Georges Gaustaud, asks for a diligent and uncompromising investigation regarding yesterday's fire disaster of Paris' embematic Notre-Dame Cathedral. 

"Not only the Catholics of France, but the French and Parisians, all humans who love the great Gothic art, no matter their religious beliefs, agnostics or atheists are upset" writes Gaustaud refering to the disturbing images of Notre Dame engulfed in flames.

Great event organized by the Communist Party of the Workers of Spain (PCTE) in Madrid

This past Saturday, April 6, the Communist Party of the Workers of Spain held its debut in Madrid with a big presentation of the organization, under the slogan: Once again, the Communist Party. 

A meeting with international scope that took place in the auditorium of the Ateneo of Madrid bringing together more than 300 people, exceeding the capacity of the legendary cultural institution of Madrid.

Communist 'Panspoudastiki' gains 2nd place in Greek university student elections

Once again "Panspoudastiki KS" (supported by the Communist Youth of Greece-KNE) emerges as the second force in Greece's universities (AEI) and third in technological institutes (TEI), after yesterday's nationwide students' elections. 

Thousands of students supported the lists of "Panspoudastiki" thus strengthening the effort for the regroupment of the student's movement. In many university departments, as well as in large institutes (e.g. University of Ioannina) "Panspoudastiki" has gained the first place.

Partito Comunista, presente! Communist Party, Italy will participate in European elections

Communist Party's General Secretary Marco Rizzo.
The Communist Party, Italy (Partito Comunista) is going to participate in the 2019 European Elections on May, after overcoming the remaining legal obstacles. According the Italian law, a party can take part in the European Elections after the collection of 145,000 signatures, including high regional shares (e.g. 3,000 in Valle d'Aosta), which is also a very costly procedure. In fact, this law consists a privilege for the big parliamentary parties and creates significant obstacles for the smaller ones.

The Communist Party, Italy will be exempted from this procedure, as long as it will participate in the Elections under the membership of the European Communist Initiative, which is represented in the EU Parliament by two deputies of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE). 

SHAME! Polish authorities destroy memorial dedicated to communist hero Nikos Beloyannis

In another episode of anti-communist barbarity, the authorities of Poland removed and destroyed a memorial dedicated to the heroic Greek communist Nikos Beloyannis in the city of Wroclaw. 

The memorial, which had been erected by Greek political refugees next to the 20th Elementary School at 143 Stabłowicka street, was removed and destroyed according to the  2016 anti-communist law which prohibits "the promotion of communism or other totalitarian regimes". 

It must be reminded that, a few months ago, Polish authorities had removed the plaque of a memorial dedicated to the legendary Democratic Army of Greece (1946-1949) in Dziwnów.

Russia plans to create museum dedicated to the achievements of the Soviet Union

According to a report by TASS news agency, the Civil Chamber of the Russian Federation considers the preparation of a museum which will be dedicated to the great social and other achievements of the Soviet Union era. 

Valery Fadeev, the Civil Chamber's Secretary stated on Monday: "We are currently in the process of developing a concept for a museum about the USSR". As he pointed out, the concept gives "neither a positive nor a negative assessment" regarding the Soviet period, characterizing the USSR as a great project of worldwide significance.

"NATO must be destroyed" - Statement by the European Communist Initiative

NATO was established seventy years ago, in 1949, in order to block the ideological and political influence of socialism and the Soviet Union, which had greatly increased after the Second World War, as well as its military power. As of its establishment, NATO became one of the headquarters of anti-communism and an imperialist alliance aimed to stop the rise of the working class. Their war policies of relentless military harassment threatened with direct military attacks, including nuclear ones, against the countries that were building socialism, which was answered in May 1955 with the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance in Warsaw.

"Young people have their own voice. It is the Communist Party of Greece" - D. Koutsoumbas

On 3 April 2019, the General Secretary of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), Dimitris Koutsoumbas, visited the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens and spoke to the students, in the run up to the triple electoral battle of the local, regional and European elections which will be held on 26 May 2019.

In his speech, amongst other things, he stressed: "From here, the building of the School of Philosophy, we send a powerful message: Young people have their own strength, their own voice. It is the Communist Party of Greece".

Capitalism in Britain: Homelessness increased by 165% since 2010

The images are disturbing and show the tragic reality of the rotten capitalist system. 

The statistics about homelessness in the United Kingdom reveal capitalism's barbarity. 

According to a report by The Independent, thousands of people sleep rough every night in the cold streets of London and other large cities. Both the two bourgeois parties which have governed the country all these decades, the Conservatives and the Labour Party, bear huge responsibility for this situation.

"Hope is flourishing in Turkey": TKP reflects on the results of local elections

The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) issued a statement after the local elections, declaring that the party will not allow the two-party system that started to be considered as the normal in Turkey today. 

TKP stated that despite the system seems to be a two-party system in the elections and despite all the difficulties, pressures and restrictions, Turkey's communists have increased their votes radically.

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) presents its candidates for EU Parliament elections

Under the slogan "Strong YES to the KKE is the strongest NO to the EU - For the disengagement, for a Europe of Socialism", in a political event held in Athens the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) presented its candidates for the European Parliament elections which will take place on May 26th. 

The major speaker was the Party's General Secretary Dimitris Koutsoumbas who pointed out that the struggle for a stronger KKE is the choice that consists "the only clear opposition to the EU, to its imperialist character and its anti-worker, anti-people policy".

Spanish Elections 2019: The Communist Party of the Workers of Spain (PCTE) will be present!

The Communist Party of the Workers of Spain (PCTE) has announced that it has managed to present candicacies to the Congress of Deputies in 29 provinces in spite of the restrictions imposed by the Central Government, which demanded the presentation of endorsements to be able to participate in the elections. 

The members of the Party and the Collectives of Young Communists took profit of this situation to make the communist project known for workers, students, pensioners, neighbours, relatives and friends. More than 30.000 people endorsed the new communist project in a bit more than 2 weeks. 

Great victory: Fatih Mehmet Maçoğlu becomes Turkey's first communist mayor!

According to soL news portal, Communist Party of Turkey (TKP)’s candidate Fatih Mehmet Maçoğlu wins Dersim municipality according to the unofficial reports.

Maçoğlu was previously the mayor of Ovacık, Dersim. During his term of office, he was already known as the ‘communist mayor’.
