Statement by the European Communist Initiative "On the “green” and war profits of business groups and the energy poverty faced by the peoples":

The war in Ukraine has exacerbated the already existing inequalities in our society, deepening the worsening living conditions of the working majority, in conditions of an imminent capitalist crisis following the 2020 crisis, which acted as a catalyst for Covid-19. According to official EU data, one in four inhabitants of the EU (more than 122 million people) is living in poverty.

KKE denounces Turkey's air strikes in Syria, north Iraq

The new Turkish military offensive in Syria and northern Iraq consists a demonstration of power under the compliance of USA, EU and Russia, reads a statement issued by the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE).

More specifically, the statement reads (here in Greek):

"The KKE denounces Turkey's new unacceptable air strike on the Kurdish areas of Syria and Northern Iraq, which is added to the military operations of the previous period and the maintenance of the Turkish occupation of Syrian lands and military forces on Iraq's territory. 

Italian communist and workers' organizations: NO TO IMPERIALIST WAR — NO ALLA GUERRA IMPERIALISTA

The following joint statement was adopted by Italian communist and internationalist organizations which participated at the national conference "The war in Ukraine, the economic crisis and the great world chaos. What to do?", held on 16 October in Rome.

"We, the communist, militant, worker and internationalist organizations, united in the national conference "The war in Ukraine, the economic crisis and the great world chaos. What to do?" held on 16 October in Rome, we call for maximum mobilization against the war and unitedly promote the following theses for collective debate:

RKSM(b): Only a revolutionary people's government can save Russia from NATO aggression

In a statement issued on October 10th, about the mobilization in Russia and the escalation of the imperialist war in Ukraine, the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Communist Youth League of Russia (Bolsheviks) stresses out the following:

"The past months of the so-called «special military operation» (SMO) confirmed the predictions of the communists considering the trap, which imperialist Russia had fallen (could not be otherwise). The SMO began with the brave battle shouts of the propagandists, but then «something went wrong». First, a generous retreat from Kiev, then the withdrawal from Zmiinyi (Snake) Island (which was at first declared to be strategically important, and then suddenly ceased to be such). Finally, the recent «straightening of the front» near Kharkiv.

Communist Party of Sweden slams NATO, Ukraine and Russia for the escalation of imperialist war

In a statement issued on Wednesday (here in Riktpunkt) the Communist Party of Sweden (SKP) refers to the escalation of the imperialist conflict between the Euro-atlantic powers and Russia in Ukraine. On the occasion of NATO's nuclear weapons exercise that will take place this week, SKP points out:

“Russia was invaded Ukraine, annexed parts of Ukraine and bombed capital Kiev. All this happened without taking into account the increasingly tense threat of a global scale war. 

NATO Killers Go Home: Protesters in Greece threw red paint at NATO warships

Members of the Communist Party (KKE), workers, peace activists demonstrated today in the Patras, Greece, against the docking of NATO warships in the city port, 902 portal reported.

Following a rally in the city, the protesters approached the port where they threw red paint at the ships, shouting slogans against the presence of NATO imperialists in the region. 

KKE General Secretary Koutsoumbas: "Greece must be immediately disengaged from the imperialist war"

The General Secretary of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), Dimitris Koutsoumbas, proceeded today in a comment concerning the dangerous developments in the imperialist war in Ukraine

“The developments on the front of the imperialist war in Ukraine mark the intensity of the confrontation with incalculable dangers for the peoples. Not only for the people of Ukraine and Russia who are at the center of this conflict, but also for the people of the entire world who are already paying the heavy cost of expensiveness and energy poverty. 

Statement of the KKE on the annexation of Ukrainian territories by Russia

Following the announcement of the annexation of Ukrainian territories by the Russian Federation, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) issued the following statement (here in Greek):

"The annexation of the Ukrainian territories of Kherson, Zaporizhia, Lugansk and Donetsk by Russia, announced by President Putin following the completion of the referendums in these regions, adds more “fuel to the fire”.

Statement of the KKE on Putin's address — Заявление КПГ по обращению Путина

Following the public address of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin on Wednesday 21 September, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) issued a statement, underlining the escalation of the imperialist conflict and demanding Greece's immediate disengagement from the dangerous plans of EU and NATO. 

The statement reads:

The imperialist war being waged in Ukraine between the Euro-Atlantic forces and capitalist Russia is heading for a new devastating escalation. It is confirmed that the build-up of military forces and materiel on both sides does not lead to the end of the war, but instead feeds the vicious circle of the continuation and intensification of the conflict.

D. Koutsoumbas: The peoples’ struggle can put an end to the causes of the bloodshed of war

The 48th festival of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) continues with a wide range of political and cultural activities. On Saturday 17/9/22, the GS of the CC of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, addressed a speech at the events in Thessaloniki. 

 

In his speech, he highlighted the strategic identification of the parties supporting Euro-Atlanticism and the choices of capital and referred in detail to the struggle of the KKE and its political proposal. He devoted an important part of his speech to international developments and the KKE’s assessments of them,an extensive excerpt of which reads as follows:

KKE on Erdogan's provocations: NATO, US and EU fuel Turkish aggression

In a statement concerning the provocative statements of Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan in the United Nations, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) points out:

“Erdogan's delirium at the UN General Assembly, where he presented the entire range of claims by the Turkish ruling class against Greece and Cyprus, cannot be interpreted as a pre-electoral tactic, nor as a product of Turkey's alleged isolation. 

KKE: Cyprus is being integrated deeper into US-NATO plans in the competition with Russia

Cyprus, which is already being used as a NATO base, is being integrated deeper into US-NATO plans in the framework of the competition with Russia, a statement by the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) points out on the occasion of the lifting of the US arms embargo on Cyprus.

More specifically, the statement published on 902 portal stresses out: 

“The celebrations of the forces of “Euro-Atlanticism” for the decision of the USA to completely lift the arms embargo on Cyprus, which they had imposed in 1987, attempt to hide the painful reality experienced by the Cypriot people from the island's involvement in the imperialist plans and competitions.

Sweden's Communist Party condemns the extradition of Kurdish fighters to Turkey

In a statement published in its official gazette “Riktpunkt” (here in Swedish), the Communist Party of Sweden (SKP) condemns the extradition of Kurdish fighters from Sweden to Turkey. The SKP also reiterates its strong opposition to Sweden's accession in NATO.

“In their effort to join NATO, Sweden's bourgeoisie and its social democratic government reject everything related to human rights. Sweden's social democratic government entered into a deplorable agreement with Turkey to extradite Kurdish communists and other fighters who have lived in Sweden for years and received asylum to escape Turkey's oppression and death threats”, points out the SKP. 

Ástor García: "To deny the imperialist nature of Russia today is to deny reality"

The following speech was delivered by Ástor García, General Secretary of Communist party of the Workers of Spain (PCTE) at the quadripartite meeting held on 8th of July 2022 in Athens:

Union of Communists of Ukraine: On the War and the tasks of the working class

The following statement-analysis by the Union of Communists of Ukraine was originally appeared in Russian language in solidnet.org (27 June 2022). The general assessment of the nature of the war launched under the guise of a special military operation (SMO) by the Union of Communists of Ukraine (UCU) generally coincides with the Statement of the Communist and Workers' Parties of February 24, 2022, supported by the UCU.

Greek soldier punished because he publicly expressed anti-NATO views

A soldier of the National Militia Battalion in the Greek island of Rhodes was punished by his unit because he expressed views against NATO, USA and the EU, 902 portal reported. More specifically, the soldier published a letter in which he opposes Greece's participation in the dangerous US-NATO imperialist plans and the country's involvement in the Ukraine war.

In a statement, the Solidarity Committee for the Rights of the Conscripts strongly denounces the decision to punish the soldier, underlines the responsibility of the Government and especially the Ministry of Defence and calls for the immediate revocation of the sentence. 

KKE MEP: The Euro-Atlantic camp and capitalist Russia are complicit in war massacres

On Wednesday 6 July, a discussion titled “The relations of the Russian government and diplomatic network with parties of extremist, populist, anti-European and certain other European political parties in the context of the war” took place at the plenary of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

The phrase belongs to a celebrity of contemporary left-wing intelligentsia. The much publicized “Hegelian Marxist” philosopher Slavoj Žižek. 

The European Communist Initiative on NATO summit

Statement of the Secretariat of the Initiative of Communist and Workers Parties:

The NATO Summit, which is taking place on 29–30 June in Madrid, is a step towards the further escalation of NATO aggression against the peoples, but also the intensification of imperialist competition, which is currently manifested in the imperialist military conflict in Ukraine.

The NATO Summit seeks to update the NATO doctrine that is dangerous to the people and to strengthen the aggressive strategy “NATO 2030”. In the context of this strategy, NATO’s Rapid Reaction Force is being legitimized and increased tenfold to over 300,000 troops, focusing on the war zone in Eastern Europe. 

Workers, Peace Activists, Students denounce the 2022 NATO Summit

Under the slogan "Yes to Peace-No to NATO! Disengage from NATO and dissolve it!", the World Peace Council (WPC) denounces the NATO Summit which takes place in Madrid on 29-30 June. It is noted that the WPC participated in the large anti-NATO rally held in Spanish capital on June 26th. 

More specifically, the WPC stresses out:

The biggest war machine in history, the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) is having its Summit on 29-30 June in Madrid, Spain. One more summit where the war hawks of 30 countries and their governments will ratify and develop their imperialist plans as a ’’world sheriff’’.
