Greek Communist Youth (KNE) anti-imperialist camp to kick off on July 17th in Stomio

Under the slogan “We remain strong – We move forward to counterattack. With the KKE for socialism!”, the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) organizes the 29th Anti-imperialist Camp on 17-19 of July 2020. 

The camp, which has a tradition of many years, will take place in the seaside village of Stomio, close to the city of Larisa and will include numerous political, cultural and sports events.

Hundreds of young people from all over Greece are going to unite their voices against the new capitalist crisis, the anti-people policies and the country's involvement in the dangerous imperialist plans.

From Athens to Minneapolis: Greek Communist Youth protest George Floyd's murder

Under the slogan “Capitalism means I can’t breathe”, hundreds of members and supporters of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), the youth wing of the KKE, participated on Monday in protests against the murder of African American George Floyd in Minneapolis.

In Athens, the mobilization of KNE took place outside the U.S. embassy where the young communists shouted slogans against the barbarity and repression of the capitalist system. Some of the slogans were “War, poverty, racism, this is capitalism” and “Capitalists’ democracy means repression and violence for the people”.

In a statement issued on Friday, the youth wing of the KKE, the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), condemns the heinous murder of 46 year-old African-American jobless man George Floyd by a white police officer in Minneapolis, USA.

The Sectoral Organization of Universities and Research of the Party Organization of Attica of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and the Regional Students Organization of Athens of the Communist Youth (KNE), in the afternoon of Tuesday the 28th of January, held an event on “The dangerous developments in the Greek-Turkish relations, in the throes of the geopolitical antagonisms and the anti-popular interests” at Panteion University.

Members and supporters of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and its youth wing KNE, who live and work in France, participated in the large strike rallies of December 5^th.

As 902 portal reported, holding banners with the slogan "Popular alliance against the blow on pensions by the government and the EU", KKE members and supporters stood on the side of French workers, demonstrating in Paris, Marseille, Grenoble and other big cities.

On Wednesday 13 November a group of hooded thugs entered the premises of the Bolivarian University in Caracas during the elections of the students council that was taking place.  The unknown men cowardly attacked members of the Communist Youth of Venezuela (Juventud Comunista de Venezuela), including José Daniel Ramos member of its National Directorate and a candidate for the students' council. 

Greeks pay tribute to the heroic 1973 Athens Polytechnic Uprising (PHOTOS)

Thousands of people of every age gathered today at the Athens Polytechnic in order to honour the heroic uprising of 1973 against the military dictatorship. 

The commemoration events which began on Friday will culminate on Sunday 17 November with the annual large anti-imperialist rally towards the U.S. embassy in downtown Athens. 

On the occasion of the Polytechnic uprsing anniversary, a statement by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) points out that "the slogans of the Polytechnic remain timely in the struggle aganst the policy that leads the people to poverty, unemployment, insecurity, against the implication of Greece in the imperialist plans of NATO-USA-EU, against repression and authoritarianism". 

Greek riot police storms Athens University of Economics, suspends academic sanctuary

In a statement issued on Monday, the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) denounces the violation of the academic sanctuary by police forces which stormed the Athens University of Economics (ASOEE) and fired tear gas against demonstrating students. 

Greek riot police forces entered the premises of the university on Monday in order to remove students who were protesting against the decision of the institute's senate to shut down the university for a week. During the raid, police fired tear gas and firecrackers to disperse the students.

Brussels: Event against EU anti-communism to be organized by KNE on November 9-11

With a three-day event, which will take place in Brussels from 9 to 11 November, the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) gives a powerful response to the European Union's anti-communist resolutions and fiestas. 

According to Rizospastis, the program includes visits in a Nazi concentration camp, walks in places of historical significance in Brussels, as well as an event in the European Parliament.

With a militant protest organized by the Communist Party of Belgium in Brussels, members and friends of communist parties, workers and immigrants raised their voice against the EU Parliament's despicable anti-communist resolution which distorts history by equating communism with fascism. 

The demonstration was attended by the organizations of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and KNE in Belgium, as well as by the KKE group in the European Parliament. 

Communist youth organizations condemn the EU Parliament's anti-communist resolution

After an initiative by the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), numerous communist youth organization around the world have signed a joint resolution in which the condemn the recent despicable anti-communist resolution adopted by the European Parliament. 

As 902 portal reports, the joint declaration of the communist youth organizations, among other things, expresses condemnation towards the EU Parliament's resolution because it "promotes the equation of communism with fascism, in fact exonerating the fascists and their activity".

KNE-Odigitis festival in Athens: Awe-inspiring political event addressed by D. Koutsoumbas

A speech by the General Secretary of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) Dimitris Koutsoumbas on Saturday evening marked the end of the three-day events of the 45th KNE-Odigitis festival in Athens. 

In a awe-inspiring political gathering, which attracted thousands of people of every age, Koutsoumbas sent a message of political resistance and counterattack, stressing out that "with our struggles, our dreams, our power, we can build a free world, open and full of hope, socialism". 

45th KNE-Odigitis festival concludes its journey on 19-21 September in Athens

After a successful tour throughout Greece, the festival of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) concludes with a three-day events at Tritsis Park in Athens. 

The festival will take place between 19 and 21 of September and includes numerous cultural and political events. 

This year's major slogan is Nazim Hikmet's words: "With the struggles, the dreams, our power... we will build a world that is free, open, full of hope". In a major political event, which has been scheduled for Saturday 21 September, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) Dimitris Koutsoumbas will be the major speaker. A message will also be delivered by the Secretary of the CC of KNE Nikos Abatielos. 

Greece: Protest of KNE outside the Brazilian embassy for the disaster in Amazon

With a protest outside the Brazilian embassy in Athens, hundreds of members of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) raised their voice against the ecological disaster that is taking place in Amazonia. 

As 902.gr portal reports, the demonstrators beared pickets with slogans such as "their profits destroy our lives and the environment, lets stop them - lets overthrow them" and "neither Trump nor Macron, the solution will be given by the people's struggle", while they marched all the way from Syntagma Square to the Embassy of Brazil. 

The 45th KNE-Odigitis festival to be held on 19-21 September in Athens

With the struggles, the dreams, our power....we will build a world that is free, open, full of hope". These words by Nazim Hikmet consist the major slogan of the 45th KNE-Odigitis festival which is organized by the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), the youth wing of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE).

Events by KNE have been scheduled in numerous cities and towns across Greece during August and September. In the country's second largest city, Thessaloniki, the festivities will take place on 12-14th of September including a large political event addressed by the General Secretary of the KKE Dimitris Koutsoumbas. 

Thousands of young communists participated in the 28th anti-imperialist camp of KNE

Thousands young men and women from every corner of Greece gathered between 12 and 14 of July, in Karpenisi, in Evrytania, in order to participate in the 28th anti-imperialist camp organized by the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE). 

The base for the camp was Kefalovriso, 3 km from the city of Karpenisi, a place which took its fame from the battle of August 1823 between the Greek revolutionaries and the Ottomans. 

KNE: "The efforts of ND government to abolish university asylum shall not pass"

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Central Council of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) slams the plans of New Democracy's (ND) conservative government to abolish university asylum. 

"The supposed government's concern about criminality in higher institutions is fake", writes the KNE statement and adds: "It is not the university asylum that prevents the tackling of crime and drug trafficking in the center of Athens, in Menidi and other areas where there is no university institution. The existing framework can address these issues in the universities. Like drug trafficking which is not treated through supervised use areas. On the contrary, it strengthens even more".

Communist 'Panspoudastiki' gains 2nd place in Greek university student elections

Once again "Panspoudastiki KS" (supported by the Communist Youth of Greece-KNE) emerges as the second force in Greece's universities (AEI) and third in technological institutes (TEI), after yesterday's nationwide students' elections. 

Thousands of students supported the lists of "Panspoudastiki" thus strengthening the effort for the regroupment of the student's movement. In many university departments, as well as in large institutes (e.g. University of Ioannina) "Panspoudastiki" has gained the first place. 

Italy's communist youth FGC leads students' mobilizations against cuts in education

While the coalition government of the “Five Star Movement” and the far-right “Lega Nord” intensifies the anti-people policies, reducing social spending in education (4 billion euros) and allocating 200 million euros to install security cameras (!) in schools, the Italian youth has no other option but to resist and organize its struggle. 

Last week, more than 100,000 students took to the streets in more than 50 cities across Italy, in order to demonstrate against the governmental policy on Education.

With the participation of 30 delegations from communist youth and anti-imperialist organizations around the world, the 12th Congress of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) kicked off on Friday afternoon in Athens. 

In the fully-packed congress hall of the KKE headquarters, hundreds of people of every age, mostly young ones, had the opportunity to watch an introductory video refering to the harsh reality of exploitation in capitalist society. "The days we are waiting for shall come. Today's generation will live new eras of rise in the workers and communist movement, new socialist revolutions! The generation of the overthrow is coming" was the message in the end.
