20th IMCWP in Athens: Declaration of 90 Communist and Workers' Parties

The 20th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties (IMCWP) took place on November 23-25, 2018, in Athens, hosted by the KKE, which celebrates 100 years of its historic course.

At the meeting under the theme of: "The contemporary working class and its alliance. The tasks of its political vanguard - the Communist and Workers' Parties, in the struggle against exploitation and imperialist wars, for the rights of the workers and the peoples, for peace, for socialism ", 90 Communist and Workers’ parties from 73 countries took part, representing all the continents.

The beginning of the works of the 20th International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties, which took place on Friday 23 November in Athens, was marked by a major speech delivered by the General Secretary of CC of the Communist Party of Greece Dimitris Koutsoumbas. Below you can read the full transcript of his speech: 

"We welcome you to the 20th International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties, here in Athens, the city where the International Meetings first began 20 years ago at the initiative of our Party. 

We are here today before you, having completed a century of life and action. We feel justifiably proud of the 100 honorable and heroic years of the KKE.

In a fully packed congress hall at the headquarters of the Communist Party of Greece in Athens, the 20th International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties began its works earlier today. The meeting is attended by 91 parties from 73 countries. 

An introductory speech was delivered by by the General Secretary of the CC of the KKE Dimitris Koutsoumbas. 

The 20th IMCWP began with a short video showing significant moments from the 100 year-old activity of the KKE and the working class movement in Greece. After the video, members of the Greek Communist Youth (KNE) holding red flags and shouting slogans ("A century of struggle and sacrifice, the KKE in the vanguard") entered the hall.

The 20th International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties (IMCWP) will take place in Athens, Greece between 23 and 25 November 2018. 

The Meeting will be hosted by the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) at the Party's headquarters in Perissos under the subject "The contemporary working class and her alliance. The tasks of the policy of the vanguard- of the communist and workers' parties in the struggle against exploitation and imperialist wars, for the rights of the workers and people, for peace, for socialism".

Dear comrades,

The KKE expresses the warmest comradely greetings of the Greek communists to the 15th National Congress of the PCV .

Our parties all these years have developed very close, bilateral comradely relations of cooperation. We have met together in the efforts to overcome the difficulties, for the theoretical and ideological regroupment of the international communist movement, the reinforcement of Marxist-Leninist orientation in its ranks, for the creation and publication of the International Communist Review. We have waged battles together to defend the communist identity of the IMCWP and to preserve its communist characteristics. We have devoted significant forces to developing the anti-imperialist struggle and solidarity, to strengthening the international anti-imperialist organizations.

October Revolution's 100th anniversary: Leningrad will host the 19th IMCWP on November

Twenty-seven Communist and Workers' Parties from all over the world gathered in Moscow for a two day meeting of the Working Group (WG) of the 19th International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties (IMCWP). 

In the meeting, which was held on 21-22 April, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) was represented by Giorgos Marinos, member of the Political Bureau, Elisseos Vagenas, member of the CC and head of the Party's International Relations department and Danae Helmi, member of the International Relations committee of the CC of KNE. 

20th KKE Congress: The international communist movement praises the contribution of the KKE

More than 100 are the communist and workers' parties which have sent letters of solidarity and greetings to the Cenral Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) on the occasion of the Party's 20th Congress. 

From Latin America to the Far East, communists highlight the significant contribution of the KKE in the efforts for the reconstruction and strengthening of the international communist and workers movement, as well as for the Party's internationalist solidarity. The 18th International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties (IMCWP) to be held in Hanoi, 28-30 October 2016

The 18th of the International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties (IMCWP) is scheduled to be held at Hanoi between 28-30 October, hosted by Communist Party of Vietnam. 

The theme of the meeting is: “Capitalist crisis and imperialist offensive - Strategy and tactics of the Communist and Workers’ Parties in the struggle for peace, workers’ and peoples’ rights, socialism.”

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) will participate in the International Meeting with a delegation which includes Giorgos Marinos, member of the Political Bureau of the CC, Eliseos Vagenas, member of the CC and responsible of the Partry's International Relations Department and Danae Helmi, collaborator of the Int. Relations Department of the CC of KKE.
